Before and After School Care Survey As part of the NSW Government’s $120 million Before and After School Care (BASC) commitment, parents at all NSW

schools were recently invited to complete a Have Your Say survey. The survey asked parents to tell us how they are using

Out of School Hours Care, how much it costs them, whether they plan to keep using it, and what difficulties they

experience in accessing it. We are now asking all parents to complete a quick follow-up survey by Friday 27 November

2020. You can access the survey at https://surveys.education.nsw.gov.au/s3/OSHCParentSurvey. This information will

help us to target the rollout of more before Out of School Hours Care services in the right areas

If your child does not require Out of School Hours care, we ask that you please still complete the first section of this

survey as it gives us important information about the level of demand at your school.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Office at school or the BASC Program team by phone on 1300 244 145 or email at: [email protected]

Congratulations Bianca

Congratulations go to Bianca Griffiths on her recent results and last time representing Finley Public School in dressage and show jumping. Bianca and her pony Ollie were the individual primary high point winners on the day. Bianca won Champion Novice Dressage (1st & 1st), Champion 60cm Show Jumping (1st & 1st) and 5th Show Horse Advanced. Over the years Bianca has represented Finley Public School at a State level several times, at a National level in 2017 at the Australian Championships and being the youngest ever member of the Victorian team.

Have a great week, Jocelyn Robinson, Principal.

Congratulations to everyone that participated in this year’s modified Athletics Carnival. From the beginning of Term 3, students attended sport sessions where they were coached through the various athletics events including discus, shot put, high jump, long jump, short distance sprints and long distance running. Following this, students competed against each other within their age group to achieve their best possible result in each event. The wet weather did set us back a few weeks but we finally finished. Many thanks go to Ally Rourke, Rick Gardiner and Ken Gardiner for dedicating their time and their expertise to help the school, students and staff improve their skills and understanding of athletic events. It was amazing to see the wonderful display of sportsmanship by each and every student throughout this modified carnival. Congratulations to the following people who set new school records for various events. 9 Years Boys 100m - Campbell R 13 Years Girls 100m - Alira G Senior Boys 200m - Lochlan LM Junior Boys 1500m - Toby L 11 Year Girls 1500m - Milena S Senior Girls 1500m - Bianca G Senior Boys 1500m - Ben R Junior Girls Discus – Tehya K

Second Step Focus;

Taking Responsibility for Your Actions Taking responsibility for your actions is the respectful and right thing to do. It means “owning

your behaviours” and can be a very responsible and brave way to behave.

We are reminding children that nobody is perfect. We all make mistakes sometimes. The

important part is that we “own up” for our behaviours and mistakes, apologize and make

amends.

Telling the truth is always the best way to go.

Honesty is always the best policy.

Please discuss and practise ways with your children to take responsibility for their own actions

and the importance of honesty and telling the truth.
