Are you looking for a change, a challenge, and a breath of fresh air? Do you want to be part of a new team that will re-shape service delivery within the Community Hospital setting?

We are seeking nurses who have experience at specialist or advanced practice level ideally previously within a hospital /community team setting. Educated at master’s level in Advanced Practice you will have a high level of autonomous clinical decision making in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex, multi-dimensional problems.

We are flexible in our approach with these posts, and are happy to talk to anyone with a genuine enthusiasm in delivering high quality healthcare in our Community Hospitals.

These are full-time permanent posts, working 37.5 hours per week, however we are happy to consider job share and flexible working patterns if desired. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced nurse to join our Blood Borne Virus team as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. You will have a special interest in HIV and frailty.

Based within the Health and Social Care Partnership this post spans many boundaries across acute and community settings and into multi-agency settings, working closely with third sector agencies to deliver care to those with Blood Borne Virus’s across Fife.

You will play a key role in further developing our pathway for supporting individuals with HIV who are experiencing frailty related co-morbidities and achieving the Scottish Government target of eradicating Hepatitis C by 2024.

You will be a innovative senior nurse with experience in Blood Borne Virus care or an associated speciality and have a keen interest in frailty. If not currently working at Advanced Practitioner level support will be given to achieve the necessary educational and practical competencies within an agreed timeframe.

Due to retirements we currently have vacancies for midwives here in our Maternity Service in Fife. We are a dynamic, progressive and really friendly team. We can offer you band 5 or band 6 midwifery roles. These posts will be permanent and are rotational posts. We can offer you various hours to suit you.

The unit is modern and progressive with approximately 3500 births per year. The services include outpatient and community services, a complex care Consultant Unit and an alongside Midwife Led Unit. We are developing services in line with Best Start recommendations. We are focussing on increasing our rates of continuity of carer in the first instance. We are developing a birth at home team and already have teams established for vulnerable in pregnancy, infant nutrition and child protection.

We will encourage you with your professional development education via our dedicated clinical midwife educator and midwifery PEF. We have an extremely successful in house leadership programme and regularly encourage staff to participate in external networking.

You must be a NMC Registered Midwife You should possess excellent team working skills with effective communication.

AU1 is a 37 bed medical admissions unit based at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy with a 6 bed assessment area.

AU1 is a fast paced, busy ward which presents invaluable opportunities for all levels of nurses to experience caring for patients with a wide variety of conditions in an acute clinical area.

This unit presently has opportunities for Registered Nurses interested in part-time and full-time posts, offering a flexible working pattern of 12.5 hour shifts, day/night rotation covering 7 days per week.

There are 6 Charge Nurses as well as 2 Senior Charge Nurses and their team approach offers a supportive working environment.

Candidates should be person centred and deliver an excellent standard of quality care to patients and their families. You should have a sound clinical knowledge base with a particular interest in medicine and appropriate clinical skills to match your experience. Completion of Flying Start is essential for those who have registered within the last 2 years

Induction and orientation will be provided for the successful candidate.

Ward 41 is a very busy Acute Stroke Unit looking after 21 patients, with a commitment to multidisciplinary team working. We specialize in caring for patients who have had a stroke.

An opportunity has arisen for Staff Nurses to join our team delivering care to stroke patients. Interest in nursing stroke patients is essential for this post.

This is an excellent opportunity for 1st level Registered Nurses interested in developing knowledge and skills in acute stroke nursing. You must have excellent communication skills and team working abilities.

You should be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team and have a genuine interest in caring for patients with stroke.

Experience in caring for the stroke patient is not necessary as training will be given.The posts are 37.5 and 34.50 hours per week rotational over days and nights working 11.5 hour shifts.

We are currently recruiting Registered Nurses to Acute Medicine of the Elderly. We are looking for nurses who wish to develop skills in Medicine of the Elderly as well as nurses who are experienced in this specialty. We have an innovative frailty model in place at the point of admission. This enables the team to identify appropriate acute admissions into Acute Medicine of the elderly wards. The experience available to you in Medicine of the Elderly is defined within a specialist competency framework which will enable you to develop a range of skills; behaviours and knowledge to care for and support older people and where appropriate their relatives and carers. All qualities that are transferrable to many care settings and other inpatient specialties.

It is a developing specialty which offers the opportunity to care for older people who have complex conditions and acute delirium which can be challenging but highly rewarding.

You will be joining a well motivated and dynamic multi-disciplinary team who strive to deliver the highest level of care possible. Applicants must have acute hospital experience. We are a large service which cover the area of Fife providing evidence based assessments and interventions to those referred to the service. We provide specialist input and advice to input to inpatients, day hospitals, community mental health teams as well as providing assessment, treatment and advice and consultation to other specialist teams in mental health. We have Occupational Therapists working in the areas of acute, rehabilitation, forensic, Intensive psychiatric care unit, focus education, horticultural therapy working with adults and older adults.

The Mental health Occupational therapy service is integral to the multi disciplinary teams and as a service we are always striving to improve and develop our service in line with local and national drivers and strategies.

Your role would be to work with the other two band 7 OT managers, the OT professional manager (8a) and Lead OT/Clinical service manager (8b) to manage staff in your area of responsibility to ensure they are delivering evidence based, high quality, high standard, timely, effective, efficient and patient centred occupational therapy for those referred into the service. You would also be responsible for the personal and professional development of the staff you are managing and dealing with any staffing issues that may arise. You would be essential to the management team in discussing and taking forward any actions which affect the service such as clinical governance, health and safety, recruitment and selection, human resource issues, staff training, audit, documentation and attending local and national meetings representing the OT service to name but a few.

The Occupational Therapy service is a very busy service, as a result, this band 7 role is very dynamic, ever changing in response to the strategic direction of the Fife wide mental health service and at times can be both rewarding and challenging trying to balance many different demands and deadlines. You will receive an induction to the service and then will receive support and advice via formal monthly supervision, 1:1 management meetings, head occupational therapy meetings , peer support as well as informal support. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced RSW to join our Intermediate Care Team as part of the Integrated Community & Support Services (ICASS) in the Cupar Locality. The Intermediate Care Service provide rehabilitation and enablement to the adult population within the locality. This will be delivered to service users as in-patients, out-patients or within their own home.

The primary function of this role will be to work with the Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy & District Nursing Services within Intermediate Care to deliver therapeutic treatment programmes to service users in the ward setting or their own homes, preventing hospital admission and supporting early discharge from hospital.

Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists & District Nursing will provide specialist assessments to this patient group and allocate your work. You will primarily deal with the function of daily care in the community, a service provided 365 days of the year from 0800-2200.

You will have an SVQ Level III in Health and Social Care or equivalent. Experience working as a support worker would be desirable. It would also be desirable to have experience working with older people as they are the main group of service users referred. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team you will be expected to carry out ongoing treatment programmes for a mixed caseload of mainly older people. You will have good organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work independently as well as within the team. There may be occasions where you will be required to work in one of the other community hospital sites within the Division. You will be required to work 20 hours flexibly over 7 days. The ability to travel throughout the area is essential.

NHS Fife is looking for a pharmacist to join our growing Medicines for the Elderly (MOE) pharmacy team within the Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP).

This rewarding role will involve delivering and developing clinical pharmacy services to both the community hospital network (CHN) and the Hospital at Home (H@H) service in the East Division. H@H is a multi-disciplinary interface service that provides hospital level care within the patient’s own home. The CHN includes a small number of specialist palliative care beds, into which the post holder would have input.

There are currently a team of experienced pharmacists and technicians providing care to the CHN and the Fife wide H@H service. You would be a welcome addition to the team and an integral member. You will be supported in your training and development; opportunities to undertake the NES Advanced Practice Training in MOE exist and are encouraged.

MOE as a speciality provides significant scope for pharmaceutical input. Pharmacy presence on the wards and as part of the H@H team is welcomed by the NHS Fife MOE Consultant and Nursing Teams. Applicants will be encouraged to review current service delivery and strive for opportunities for service development. Current pharmacy roles include: ward round and MDT attendance, undertaking polypharmacy reviews (in the ward and homely setting), discharge planning and assessment of patients’ ability to self-administer and manage their medicines. The successful appointee will also become a key member of the NHS Fife Specialist Palliative Care Service and provide support to the Palliative Care Community Pharmacy Network incorporating the Just in Case (JIC) Anticipatory Care service.

Applicants should have a sound clinical knowledge and a commitment to delivering high standards of pharmaceutical care. Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills are essential. Applicants must be both strong team players and be able to work independently.

Clinical work is conducted in community based clinics across Fife and the two main hospitals located in Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy. The full range of clinical presentations/complexity is represented and there are opportunities for group work, teaching and training and partnership work with other agencies.

This is a new Assistant Psychologist Post which will be attached to the Rheumatology Service based at Whyteman’s Brae Hospital in Kirkcaldy. You will support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the Rheumatology Service, assisting patients to develop self management skills for their condition. You will provide psychological assessment and psychological interventions in group and 1:1 formats under the clinical supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist who specialises in Rheumatology.

You will also contribute to the evaluation of the new service, and to the development of evidence based practice. Some experience of work with patients presenting with long term physical health conditions would be an advantage.

We are looking to recruit motivated General Practitioners to Linburn Road Health Centre.

The practice is 11 years old and continues to expand. Our current list size is 8881, with an equivalent of 3.0 full time GPs, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 1 Practice Nurses and 1 Treatment Room Nurse along with a phlebotomist and efficient and supportive administration team.

Linburn Road Health Centre is a section 2c salaried practice, and therefore carries the benefits of being employed by the NHS, which includes indemnity cover. We have few house calls, and we do not participate in extended hours. The building is relatively new (built for purpose 11 years ago) and is well equipped. District Nurses and Health Visitors work on site, along with a range of other visiting health care professionals."

An exciting opportunity has arisen for three registered nurses with an interest in nursing education to apply for a seconded clinical academic fellow (CAF) post within the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Dundee. This role provides an opportunity for a registered nurse with an interest in developing an academic career. Two posts will be based in Dundee in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences on the City Campus, and one will be based in our Kirkcaldy campus. The successful applicants will contribute to teaching on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules and will work with experienced teaching staff in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. The post-holders will be part of the academic community with opportunities to teach at post-registration and postgraduate levels. We are looking for graduate nurses (normally with or working towards a Master’s degree). We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who have experience in advanced practice and community nursing but are also interested in applicants with experience across nursing, for example acute care, clinical skills, and care of older adults. Applicants should have a desire to develop clinical academic skills in teaching, and enthusiasm and commitment to developing and applying evidence to practice. The secondment will be for a fixed period of 12 months in the first instance with the possibility to renew for a further 12 months. The post will normally be 0.5 WTE. Development for the successful candidate will be focused on the individual appointee’s needs and will include an induction and orientation programme and the ongoing support of an identified mentor. MATERNITY LOCUM GP

Millhill Surgery is based in the historic town of Dunfermline with easy access to the motorways to Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

We work from purpose built premises. We are looking to recruit a GP to cover maternity leave from the beginning of January 2019 until the end of August 2019. These dates are negotiable and the post has the potential to be extended. The GP going on leave covers 8 sessions per week over 4 days.

This position may offer newly qualified GPs an opportunity to work in a supported environment to experience regular work whilst also exploring other opportunities. Our list size is approximately 9000 using EMIS and Docman. We have advanced nurse practitioners seeing out minor illness who support our GPs who are on 15 minute appointments.

We are a friendly team and the doctors meet several times during the day informally which allows the opportunity for catch up and continued learning. Our community staff are based in the practice including pharmacists, midwives, district nurses and health visitors.

Practice teaches Aberdeen and St Andrews students regularly.

We are looking for Locum cover for up to 9 sessions per week to cover maternity leave for 9 months, commencing November 2019. We are willing to discuss flexible sessions/days.

You will be working with a highly motivated and enthusiastic group of GPs. We benefit from being a large Practice with a team of 9 GP Partners and 2 Salaried GPs. We employ an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Chronic Disease Nurses, a Practice Pharmacist, a Mental Health Counsellor and Health Care Support Workers to help with some of the work traditionally done by GPs. We have additional Health Board Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technician who deal with discharges and acute prescriptions. In the near future, we will have additional resources such as MSK Physiotherapy, Mental Health Triage Nurse and Advanced Nurse Practitioner. The Practice has an excellent administrative set-up and is highly organised and efficient.

We operate from two modern purpose-built premises in Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay and run a Consulting Room facility one day per week in Aberdour. There is easy parking in the area when out and about on house calls.
