Feed the Children office in Malawi will unite with Government, Development partners, Local Councils, private sector, the donor community, NGOs and Communities to tackle the root cause of childhood hunger in Malawi. Feed the Children (FEED), one of the world’s leading anti-hunger organization announces a new Vision and Purpose to Create a World where no Child goes to bed hungry. The organisation launches its new brand today, the 26 th March, 2015 at Ufulu Gardens from 2:00-4:30pm. Government officials, other NGOs, different stakeholders, partners, donor community, district council representatives and Feed the Children Staff will witness the ceremony where a new logo, vision, mission, promise and values will be unveiled. The new brand reflects the organizations’ renewed commitment to do more together so that more children can just be children and no child ever goes to bed hungry. In it’s newly defined identity, Feed the Children is set to pursue new alliances with various stakeholders including government, development partners, local councils, private sector, donor community, NGOs and communities to defeat the status quo of hunger and end childhood hunger. PRESS RELEASE Since its founding over 35 years ago, Feed the Children has been implementing child feeding programs in America and around the World in 18 countries including Malawi. Today, Feed the Children realizes that childhood hunger is a complex and deep-rooted issue that cannot be tackled single-handedly or through a single approach. Feed the Children understands today that to end childhood hunger, there is need to empower children, unite forces and attack the root cause from all angles. FEED believes that it will take a multi-sectoral approach to end Childhood hunger in Malawi. It will take donors to believe in the cause, experts to diagonize the problem and innovate solutions, organisations to pool their resources and expertise, communities to work together towards sustaninable development and leaders to institutionalise change. To demonstrate this new mindset, Feed the Children office in Malawi has within its Country program partnered with several institutions and organizations including the Government of Malawi through Ministry of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, the Department of Nutrition HIV & AIDS, USAID, World Relief, Total Land Care, Children’s Brighter Future, Nu Skin and many others to fight child Malnutrition in the country. Feed the Children in Malawi is working towards ending childhood hunger through the Child Focused Community Development Program and other donor funded projects through a comprehensive and intergrated approach to help disadvantaged children, their families and communities to achieve self-sufficency. Feed the Children’s work in Malawi centres on supporting children, their households and communities under its four program pillars: Food & Nutrition, Health & Water, Education and Livelihoods. In Malawi, youths and children make over 50% of the total population. Feed the Children believes that the fight against childhood hunger is the right thing to do. It is not an easy fight, but the only way to ensure that one day no child should go to bed hungry in Malawi.
