Caucus to Select Arlington Delegates to 8CD Convention & State Convention• Arlington can send 75 delegates (and 19 alternates) to the
State Democratic Convention and the 8CD Democratic Convention
• These Arlington delegates can (1) file to become national delegates and/or (2) vote on the candidates who wish to become national delegates
• Great opportunity to get involved in the convention process without trekking to WI!
• Arlington must have process for identifying its delegates– Propose a caucus held on April 18 at 12 pm-2 pm– Motion to adopt rules governing this caucus?
Resolution Supporting Repeal of Virginia’s Right-to-Work Law
• Several states, including Virginia, have enacted right-to-work laws, which make it more difficult for labor unions to organize
• Workers in right-to-work states have lower wages, fewer benefits, and greater work safety issues
• Virginia in particular is rated the worst state for workers by Oxfam
• Eliminating the right-to-work law is one important step toward improving conditions for workers in Virginia
• Motion to adopt resolution?
Resolution Supporting Efforts to Address Opportunity Gap at APS
• Despite significant efforts, there remains a persistent gap between the average achievement of students of color, English learners, students with disabilities, and economically disadvantaged students and the average achievement of other students in Arlington Public Schools (APS)
• The APS 2018-2024 Strategic Plan includes multiple measures to address the opportunity gap
• Wish to demonstrate community support for APS’ redoubling of efforts to close the opportunity gap

Resolution Honoring David Bell’s Service on the Electoral Board
• David Bell has served on the Arlington County Electoral Board from 2009-2011 and 2014 to present
• He will retire from the Electoral Board on February 27• Prior to serving on the Electoral Board, Dave had a
distinguished career as Clerk of the Court and as a Democratic volunteer
• Resolution honors his long service on the Electoral Board and to Arlington County in general
