“Man, that was fun!” exclaimed Wes Vose, one of the participants in FCTVs recent Moviemakers Bootcamp workshop. Fun it was! A great mix of veteran and newer FCTV producers convened on November 30th with one single goal in mind. The workshop assignment, spelled out by instructors, Alecia Jean Orsini Lebeda and Nathan Tisdale was straight forward enough, but hardly simple: to produce an entire one to five minute movie from scratch. In exactly three hours. Under the guidance of Nathan and AJ, the participants divided into two movie-making units — TEAM PURPLE (Allen Fonseca, Clint Piatelli, Valerie May Douglas, Jonathan Peirce) and TEAM GOLD (Wayne Lampman, Wes Vose, Lisa Asendorf, Doug Blake, Mark Mankello), thus making the workshop more than just a challenge — it was a competition! Each group was charged with crafting a script, acting and videotaping it, and yes, editing it. At 9 PM each team was called upon to stop working on their movies and present their productions to the entire class. The results were contrasted and compared and each proved to be both engaging and remarkably amusing. The success of Moviemakers Boot Camp, and the enthusiasm of all those involved, encouraged us to plan for more workshops of this type, so keep an eye on the FCTV Weekly Bulletin or our web site www.fctv.org for news of the upcoming sequel. Says AJ: “Moviemakers Boot Camp was a blast! GO TEAM PURPLE! Our Members are some of the most creative people on the planet, I can’t wait to do it again!” To see the productions, go to the FCTV Fan Page on facebook and click on “Videos.”

This year Santa Claus (Clint Piatelli) again made a visit to FCTV! He and Mrs. Claus (Victoria Santos) along with their Head Elf (Joe Dougherty) took calls from the boys and girls of Falmouth asking what they would like for Christmas. Santa’s reindeer were well cared for while at FCTV, and were seen chatting with the many wild rabbits who live near the station.

Santa’s 2010 FCTV Visit

Dominic Fucile, FCTV Kids’ Club member and avid Boy Scout, recently came into the station for two days to help AJ with some much-needed organization. Master Fucile, who is working on a service project, organized all the CDs in our royalty-free music collection, made a list of what we had, and typed it up for reference. He also sorted through “homeless” tapes, CDs and DVDs, making the shelf neat and tidy. Finally, he wrangled many cables that had been hopelessly tangled. Here’s a big thank you to Dominic for all his good work!
