From the Chairman’s Desk

Dear Readers, My warmest greetings to you all. Furniture and Fiitings Skill Council (FFSC) is making all its efforts to connect youths to employers. The Rozgar Mela is an opportunity for the job seekers to learn more about potential employers and various employment opportunities aviailable, including entrepreneurship. Last quarter, FFSC has organised Rozgar Melas at various locations across the country to give platform to employers to meet the potential employees. More than seventy candidates registered for Apprenticeship scheme and four hundred candidates were offered job. WorldSkills 2019 selection test competition, organised by Furniture and Fiitings Skill Council (FFSC) under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and ) under National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) was orgnaised from January 2019 to March 2019. Two candidates in Joinery trade and two candidates in Cabinet Making competed in Selection Test Competition. I congratulate the winner Mr. Vikash Kumar Naga in Joinery and Mr. Keshar Singh Rajput in Cabinet Making trade. These two candidates from Joinery and Cabinet Making trade will represent India at WorldSkills- Kazan 2019. I am optimistic that the finalists will raise the bar and will bring laurels to country at the WorldSkills this year. Apart from organising regular Governing Council Meetings, FFSC has conducted Steering Council Meeting of Industry members. The Steering Council is a small group of members to facilitate the actvities of FFSC. RPL-Best in Class Employer (Type-4) under PKMVY 2016-20 is being envisaged to ensure skills available in the organised sector with best-in-class employers. This will help achieve certification at scale while ensuring quality of certification at lower operational cost. I am glad our industry members have shown interest for the RPL certification of their employees. FFSC has also started orientention of the candidates for the assessment and certification. I am hopeful that efforts of FFSC will help and contribute to the Skill India Mission in a positive way. I hope you will find our this edition useful. GLOBAL SKILLS SUMMIT 2019 IN RANCHI, JHARKHAND

GOLD AWARD FOR EFFICIENT IMPLEMENTATION OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES UNDER NATIONAL BACKWARD CLASSES FINANCE AND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (NBCFDC)

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) WITH GREENPLY IN KOLKATA

Shri. Raghubar Das, Honorable Chief Minister of Jharkhand visited at Furniture and Fittings Skill Council's stall in Global Skill Summit 2019 on 10th January 2019.

Furniture and Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) was presented with the 'Gold Award' for efficient implementation of skill development initiatives under National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation

(NBCFDC) on the occasion of the 27th Foundation Day in the presence of Honorable Secretary and Joint Sec-retary from Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) on 11th January 2019.

FFSC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Greenply Industries to provide joint certifica-tion to the workforce through Recognition of Prior Learning Type 4 under PMKVY scheme on 18th Feb 2019.


LEARNING AND SKILLS EXPO 2019 IN NEW DELHI

13TH GOVERNING COUNCIL MEETING OF FFSC IN MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA.

Furniture and Fittings Skill Council participated in the Learning and Skills Expo 2019 which is a part for IETF 2019 from 3rd to 5th February 2019 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi and showed Live Skills Demonstration

during the exhibition.

The 2nd Steering Council Meeting and 13th Governing Council Meeting of Furniture and Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) was held at Godrej Interio office, Mumbai on 28th February 2019.


DELHIWOOD 2019 IN GREATER NOIDA, UTTAR PRADESH

Cabinet Making: 1st Selection Test for WorldSkills 2019 competition between Mr. Keshar Singh Rajput from Rajasthan and Mr. Rajesh P Solanki from Gujarat at Iraj Evolution and Design Pvt Ltd (22-28 Jan. 2019).

Live Skills Demonstration by Furniture and Fittings Skill Council at DelhiWood 2019 with the theme of WorldSkills 2019. Mr. Vikash Kumar Naga and Mr. Keshar Singh Rajput, the finalists from Joinery and Cabinet

Making trade respectively had implemented test projects through the duration of the exhibition from 13th to 16th March 2019 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
