Self-Monitoring of the certification status
of Fairtrade certified organizations
FAIRMONITOR has been designed to be an integral part of the Ecert web portal provided by
FLOCERT to FLOCERT customers and Fairtrade stakeholders
With FAIRMONITOR, you are able to:
• Create a monitoring list of organizations Fairtrade certified by FLOCERT
• Receive notifications on certification status changes in your monitoring list

FAIRMONITOR consists of the following components:
• Dashboard: Quick overview on the Fairtrade certification status in your monitoring list
• Monitoring list: Add and remove organizations whose certification status you want to
monitor
• My profile: Only relevant for Fairtrade certified organizations – Please ignore

Please note that the dashboard is a read-only tab and no data can be changed here. The
data shown under the Diagram is propagated from the monitoring list created under the tab

The following slides will explain how to edit and manage data that then appears on your
dashboard.

Display of Fairtrade certification status
In various tabs of the tool, you will find a colour coding showing you the Fairtrade
certification status of the organizations in your monitoring list.

For example in the Dashboard tab, you will find this
diagram. It shows the percentage of your supply
chain members (customer and suppliers) with
specific Fairtrade certification statuses.

1. Go to tab Monitoring list
2. Click on “New”

3. The category of your list will be
pre-selected
4. Enter a name for your
monitoring list (mandatory)
5. Enter a description of your
monitoring list (optional)
6. Click on “Save and Close”
• If you tick "I want to create a product specific supply chain” you can only select
organizations trading the selected products (see below )

• In case you do not want a product specific monitoring list, un-tick "I want to create a
product specific supply chain”
• Click “Save and Close"
You can select products by:
1. Searching product(s) by using the product filter (see below No.1)
2. Add product(s) using the “Add” button (see below No.2)
The monitoring list created will be displayed in the tab Monitoring list.
To edit the monitoring list properties (e.g. edit name, adding or removing products): click
on the icon in the column “Properties” (No. 1) and then refer to the 2 previous slides.
In order to delete the monitoring list altogether, click on the bin icon which pops up
(No. 2).

When you click on the monitoring list you created, all organizations on this list will be
displayed

Functions available in the Monitoring list
Click “Save” after each change done to the Monitoring list
(added/deleted organizations)
“Save and Close” will save changes and close the tab
Close your
Monitoring list
Export list to an
Excel file and
save it on your
desktop Use these
options to filter

• Click on “Add new row” (No. 1) to add new organizations to your monitoring list
Make sure to ALWAYS save changes afterwards ! =>
• Remove organizations from your monitoring list by moving the mouse over the row and
clicking on the bin icon (No.2).

Making changes to your Monitoring list
Get more information on the organizations in your monitoring list by clicking on the icon in the
column “Company details”

A new window with two tabs will open.
On the first tab “Company information” you will find:
• The contact information of the organization
• Public marketing information
(edited by the organization)

On the second tab “Products” you will find the list of Fairtrade products traded by the
organization

FAIRMONITOR can send automated notifications when the Fairtrade certification status of
one of the organization in your monitoring list changes.

Automated notifications on status change
Notifications will be sent out once every 24 hours during the night (German time zone).
The notifications are cumulative, summing up all changes of each day within your
monitoring list.
