  • Faculty Program Highlights________________________________Dr. Levon Marashlian isprofessor of history at GlendaleCommunity College, where he hasbeen teaching since 1980, and is theauthor of two books and over 100articles. He visited Armenia for thefirst time in 1973 and has beenvisiting and lecturing there almostevery year from 1990 to 2006,

    including asemester in 1994as a FulbrightScholar. He ledthe first GCCStudy Abroadtrip to Armeniain summer 2005.

The instructor and guest speakers will use a combination ofinteractive video and lecture and discussion in the classroom as well as during field trips.______________________________________________________________________________________Armenian 110 Dr. Lilit Galstian 3Conversational ArmenianIntroduction to Eastern Armenian and practical speaking experience in the classroom as well as at locations inYerevan and throughout Armenia, in the context of contemporary Armenian culture and everyday life. Theinstructor and guest lecturers will use lyrics of traditional and popular music, poetry, plays, and televisionprogramming to demonstrate variations of spoken Armenian.______________________________________________________________________________________International Field Studies 148 (Transfer: CSU) Dr. Levon Chookaszian 3Art, Architecture, Cultural History and Contemporary Society of ArmeniaIntroduction to the art, architecture, cultural history, and contemporary society of Armenia, presented in classroomlectures and during field trips to museums, monuments, churches, and other artistic and historical structures. Theinstructor’s and guest speakers’ combination of audiovisual material and lecture and discussion in the classroomwill be augmented by special on-site presentations.

    Cancellation Policy* For cancellations up to March 15,2007, there is a fee of $100.* For cancellations from March 16 toApril 15, 2007, there is a fee of $300.* For cancellations after April 15, thereare no refunds.* The date of cancellation is the date ofverbal and written communicationreceived by the Study Abroad Office.______________________________

    BaggageAirline regulations allow two pieces ofcheck-in luggage, not to exceed 70pounds for each piece, and one smallpiece of carry-on luggage per person,not to exceed 13 pounds. Levon Travelis not responsible for additional feesimposed by air carriers. Regulationsat most airports require that travelershandle their own luggage throughcustoms.
