Things are going swimmingly around here as we begin preparing for Vacation Bible School 2012! The dedicated volunteers at FUMC Santa Monica are, again, working to offer an amazing week of studying Scriptures on a Deep Sea Voyage, singing at the Choral Reef, playing games at the High Tide Hangout, creating crafts at the Aquatic Arts room, exploring science at the Exploration Station, participating in a mission project (Santa Monica Pier Aquarium), eating snacks from the Diver’s Diner, and enjoying fellowship among children, youth and adults.

There are many ways to serve and support VBS. We need volunteers to create sets for Simkins Hall, help prepare snacks, decorate rooms, help with registration, assist with activities, guide children from room to room, help set up on Friday July 27 and Sunday July 29, or clean up on Friday afternoon August 3. We also appreciate financial donations to help support our scholarship program. And, of course, we count on all to pray for a successful week.

The children come to us from our Preschool, our church families, and families from the community at large. We are again welcoming Sister Lynn’s children from South Los Angeles.

Please pick up registration forms at the Welcome Table during the Fellowship Hour or you can also find them in the kiosks around church, as well as on our website at www.santamonicaumc.org.
