The “Bars” group of images contain the same design. All of them are an image of bars. Liana was experimenting with the black and white images of the bars and the use of lens flares to make the bars project at the viewer.

The “Hands” group of images contains a different background but the same image. Liana was experimenting with the different colors that would best fit with the color of the hands and also which type of background would make the hands “pop.”

My interest in art developed after taking several art classes in middle school and speaking with a Graphic Designer in High School. Once I spoke to the Graphic Designer, I put my focus into Digital Art. This interest mostly came about when I was able to physically visit a graphic design studio. I was able to see what graphic designers actually do on a first hand basis and seeing what they did got me even more excited about working in digital art. The artwork that I create consists mostly of random thoughts and ideas. To bring my ideas to life, I would sketch. Sometimes my sketches become abstract or do not represent an existing form. Recently I have been using a camera to take Digital Photographs. During the early stages of learning to use a Digital Camera, I accidentally took a photograph and the photograph that was taken was of the stairwell handlebars. The image was pretty fascinating so I decided to manipulate the image to make the bars more three-dimensional. The experiment for the “Bars” series is focused on the use of color, arrangement, and sharpness. Although all the images are sharp in the areas where the bars are shown.

In the midst of gathering photographs for a series called “Hands” I came across someone who posed his hand in a way that created an array of lines in the palm and interesting three-dimensional projection. I created this mini experiment series to focus on color to make the overall image “pop” and look more interesting. After speaking to a couple of people they say the image of the hand has a creepy feel to it. The more I view the image the more I can see the creepiness others see and that was not done on purpose.
