SME Programmes

Introducing High Growth Accelerator This programme provides SME leaders and senior management teams with the time, space and environment to identify and work on the barriers to growth in their business. Participants work with their peers using proven tools and techniques to explore their business, develop a clear focus, set strategy and put in place the core fundamentals that, operationally, are needed to scale their business.

High Growth Small Businesses were responsible for 68% of employment growth between 2012 and 2013. These high growth small businesses are key to local economic prosperity and it is vital that those businesses with the potential to scale quickly have management that are ready and able to deal with this challenge.

Programme ContentGreenlands, Henley-on-Thames, UK.

This programme comprises four days (2 x 2) of discussion and workshops with informative and applied content. High Growth Accelerator is a partnership that brings together a team of experienced, hands-on business experts from VitalSix and Henley Business School.

VitalSix has been delivering these proven programmes since 2009, helping the next generation of ambitious businesses to accelerate profitable growth. Over the past ten years, the team has also supported high-growth businesses to raise over £200 million to finance growth and development through equity, debt and grant funding. Throughout the programme participants work in groups to explore their strategy and will emerge with a clear, focused business strategy for sustained growth.

• Growth strategies – competitive advantage, intellectual property, barriers to entry

• Marketing & accelerated sales – product/market matrix, customer value analysis, sales pipeline, sales cycle, key accounts

Who is this programme for?The High Growth Accelerator is for the leaders and top teams of high-potential and fast-growth, small and medium sized businesses. Through intensive residential programmes it develops and hones the skills and specialist knowledge that are essential for leaders of fast-track businesses.

VitalSix Co-founder and Thames Valley Berkshire Business Growth Hub Director, Ed Cooper, has a diverse background including mechanical engineering, contracts and environmental management. Ed has spent twelve years working on Gov funded business support projects for High Growth

SME’s and has been immersed in the culture and development of small businesses. This experience is embodied in the development of the Thames Valley Berkshire Business Growth Hub and Henley Accelerator programme. Ed has an extensive network of professionals, investors and advisers that he is able to lever for the benefit of his small business clients.

Simon Derry

An MBA Graduate, Simon was employed in the following sectors; Public Sector (HM Forces and NHS), IT and Technical Support (Customer Services Manager for Psion Plc), Corporate Consulting (Project and Programme Management, Trouble Shooting for US consulting firm). His areas of expertise

are; Corporate Strategy, Project & Programme Management, Innovation and NPD Management, Operational Excellence and Problem Solving.
