Patty, have you seen the mixing spoons?

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

I wish that Q green would dissolve already!

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

Girls, you’ll all get to put your yarn in the dyepot. No pushing!

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

Isn’t that the cutest little coccoon you’ve ever seen?

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

Double, double, toil and trouble…

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

Beneath the steamy surface, the Q green cooks.

And here we have some stewed to perfection Q green fiber samples.

I can’t find the spoon, do you think David will mind if I borrow one of his wrenches?

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

Oh, I could do wonderful things with these yummy yarns! I’ll have to get me some dyepots!

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

Well, of course we have to eat! What’s a party without food?

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

I think it needs to cook a little longer.

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

OOOOO! I love that brazilwood!

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

I can’t help myself, I have to check it one more time!

Look at this one, ladies!

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

Up! Down! Up! Down! Now where did that little coccoon go?

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

Interesting…brazilwood on this cotton yarn is bluer than on the wool.

Finished Quebracho green samples

Finally found that pesky coccoon!

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

Hmmm. Leather samples shrunk to 1/5 their size and became rock hard!

Tussah silk dyed in brazilwood.

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

Horn button and shell soaked up the dye. Will probably need a coat of sealant.

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

This piece of tussah silk was dyed in Q green then overdyed in brazilwood. Some folks just can’t stop messing around.

www.AffirmingCreativity.com

That was a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing your dyes and setting it up, Patty.

I enjoyed it too. Thanks for volunteering your home and mordanting all that yarn, Gayle!
