ADAMS COUNTY DESTINATIONSPETENWELL AND CASTLE ROCK LAKESTwo of the best-kept secrets in Wisconsin are Petenwell and CastleRock lakes, the second- and fourth-largest inland lakes in the state,together covering more than 60 square miles. In Adams County, theshores of Petenwell and Castle Rock Lake are dotted with public launchsites, and visitors can enjoy water-skiing, swimming, sailing and boat-ing on its beautiful blue waters. Spectacular sunsets await along themany miles of wooded shoreline. For the angler, there are walleye,northern pike, bass and perch lurking just beneath the surface.

ROCHE-A-CRI STATE PARKThe 300-foot sandstone mesa, from which the park derives its name,once was an island in glacial Lake Wisconsin. The summit, now acces-sible by a stairway of solid white-oak planks, offers a breathtaking,120-mile panorama. The varied terrains of the 425-acre park, includegrasslands, open cliffs, pine barrens, oak forest, prairie and the mean-dering Carter Creek. Roche-A-Cri State Park offers 42 wooded camp-sites. There are toilets, water and picnic tables. The park has four milesof marked hiking trails. 1767 Highway 13 in Friendship.

DELLS OF THE EAU CLAIRE COUNTYPARKThe dells surround fantastic geological features createdby the Eau Claire River. The river bisects this 190-acrepark.
