Coming up this ter m we have our International Day and ES Music concerts and Art show on April 14 and 15. In addition to our end of unit projects and assessments, and students’ reflections on their o ngoing learning through our learning journals, we will also have our second semester report cards distributed at the beginning of June. Our Grade 4s’ Moving on Ceremony will take place on the last day of school, June 9. Currently, Grades 3 and 4 students are working on the second round of the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests in the areas of Language, Reading and Mathematics. In response to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan before the break, our Student Council in the Elementary School, along with a group of Japanese students and their parents, have organized a few things next week to help us learn more about the disaster. To help with raising awareness of what is happening in Japan as well as generating funds to donate to the cause of rebuilding, From the ES Administration From the ES Administration  next Friday April 8, students have the option of a free dress day. On this day, our students are encouraged to wear the t-shirts that have been on sale by high school students. Alternatively, if students choose to participate by wearing red and white, they are asked to bring in 100 pesos as a donation. This is an optional a ctivity and students ar e still welcome to wear their school uniforms. In addition to the free dress day, a group of Japanese students have been working on a display, which will be put up next week outside the ES Office, to share their thoughts on what has happened in Japan, as well as information about the disaster. Please take a look at this display to find out more. On Friday, they will also be selling rice balls at lunch and after school with all proceeds being donated to help support Japan. If anyone has any questions about this project, they can contact Mrs. Hosoda ([email protected] ), a parent in our Elementary School. Our thoughts go out to all our students and their families in the Japanese community. On Thursday April 7, 2011 from 7:30 – 8:30 we will have our final ES par ent coffee of t he year. We will start with a performance by our AFAC ES Band group. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Re-Enrollment for SY 2011-12

The Admission Office and the individual school offices are makingplans and gathering re-enrollment data for next school year, SY 2011-2012. Middle and High School students must indicate re-enrollmentintentions through their Course Selection form (which is done on-line). If you have any questions about this, please contact theindividual school offices.

URGENT: If you know that your child(ren) will not be returning to ISMfor the 2011-12 school year, please inform the Admission Office assoon as possible if you have not already done so.

We currently have very few families indicating that they will not be returning and consequently there are anever growing number of applicants in a WAITPOOL for possible openings. This is causing great distress andanxiety in those families that are waiting to hear if their children will be accepted into ISM. If you are sure thatyour child will be leaving ISM, please submit a Withdrawal Notification Form. The Withdrawal Notification Formcan be obtained from the Admission Office or from the ISM website: Admission tab and then click on Re-Enrollment & Withdrawal. This will be a great help for our planning and to the many families waiting to beadmitted. Thank you.

Re-Enrollment requirements will be similar to last year and a Re-Enrollment DEPOSIT PAYMENT is not required toreserve a space at the School for SY2011-12. However, parents are obliged to inform the School in writing, before the second Friday of May, if their children will withdraw at the end of the academic year. There is aWITHDRAWAL NOTIFICATION FORM for such purpose and this must be submitted to the Admissions Office before

the second Friday of May of each school year. Failure to do so will lead to a deduction of US$1,000 from theFacilities Upgrade Deposit (FUD), in compensation for having held a space for the child and thus preventing theSchool from offering that space to another child prior to the summer holiday break.

The Re-Enrollment Form and other requested forms for each re-enrolling student will be available by thebeginning of April in both 'hardcopy' at the Admission Office and online on our website under Admission and Re-Enrollment & Withdrawal.

If you do not download this information from the website then please drop by the Admission Office during officehours (7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) and pick up the set of Re-Enrollment Forms. Parents may do this personally oryour child can come to the Admission Office and get the forms. If you would like to have your driver orhousehelp pick up the forms, please give them a letter of authorization to collect the Re-Enrollment Forms foryour child/children.
