KNOW HOW EPM MAGNETIC CHUCKS WORK Only requires power during switching ON/ OFF. Does not require power during machining operation. After Switching ON, will remain ON for ever. Massively powerful chuck – holding power over 100 MT/m2

TYPES OF EPM CHUCK

Squarepole75 for heavy duty milling of medium and large components. Job Thickness > 20 mm.

Squarepole50 for Heavy Duty Milling of small and medium components. Job Thickness >15 mm.

POWER OF EPM CHUCK DEPENDS ON

Condition of Material Work Piece Thickness

Heat Treatment reduces magnetic power. Annealed materials absorbs maximum magnetic power. Hardened materials reduces magnetic power and retains it after switching Off.

Thinner the material, the magnetic flux is not absorbed and is thrown out of body making machining difficult.

Pendant Unit Gently Operate the push Button Switch,

No need to use great force. Always keep the power control button to the

maximum position (8).

Connector Always firmly seal the bayonet connector after

chuck is charged and CNC Operation starts. This will help to prevent stray chips and coolant from entering the Connector (and possible short-circuit). After operation clean the inside of the Connector with air gun.

Toe Clamp Make sure the chuck is firmly secured with toe

clamps.

Side Support Always remember, a

minimum of 4 pole for Squarepole75 and 8 poles for Squarepole50 is required for best contact.

If the job is not big enough to cover the required number of poles, use side supports.

OVERHANG

The job by all means should not exceed more than 150 mm on one side. For example, if your table dimension is 600 x 400 mm, do not exceed more than 150mm on the 600 mm side. Always aim for symmetry. Overhang with side support block is also a good idea.
