Victorian High Tea in Easton Tea Room-Saturdays and Sundays noon - 4:30pm

Visiting Easton Tea Room is one of the pleasures of the holiday season for many of our members and friends. Located adjacent to

the museum building in the circa 1870 Alexander Dorrance Easton residence at 458 High Street, the tea room features designer

interiors and original period details, accented with Victorian antiques. One most popular offering is Victorian High Tea, which

includes an extensive selection of Ashby’s famous English teas, a variety of tea sandwiches, savories, and delectable dainty

pastries. Our heavenly date and ginger scones, for which we are locally famous, are made from early 20th-century recipes. Pastries

include confections such as hand-decorated petit fours and our traditional almond macaroons, an FRHS favorite since 1921.

Savories include flavored breads with cream cheese filling, tartlets, and traditional cucumber sandwiches.

Tea with Mrs. Claus-Seating’s at 11:30, 1:30, and 3:30. Easton Tea Room (FR Historical Soc.) Prepaid reservations required.

Bring the little ones in your life to our fancy tea party. The tables are set with our best china and linens, and young ladies and

gentlemen enjoy a child-friendly version of Victorian High Tea, with sandwiches cut into seasonal shapes and desserts that appeal

to children, while grown-up guests are served an assortment of tea sandwiches, savories, and sweets.

The guest of honor, Mrs. Claus, entertains girls and boys with activities including a game, a holiday story, songs, and a scavenger

hunt. Each child also writes a letter to Santa Claus, and Jingles, our friendly elf, collects the letters and gives them to Mrs. Claus to

deliver. Soon afterwards, children get an amazing surprise – a personal response from Santa arrives at their home!

This popular annual event always sells out quickly, so contact us early to reserve your place. The tea is age-appropriate for children

ages 3 through 8. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Be sure to bring along your camera to capture all the special

moments!
