To all Riverside Country Club Members, Thank you all again for the warm welcome I have received from the many members I have met. I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you better. Earlier this month the Club held its annual meeting; congratulations and welcome to the three new Board members Ty Elliot, Ann Waters, and Lynda White. I am looking forward to working with you over the years to come. A special thank you to the outgoing Board members; Bob Hathaway, Jill Pike, and Cory Pulfrey. I know your fellow members of Riverside Country Club appreciate the many years of service you gave to the Club. The presentation that was given that night is on the Club’s website. Log on as a member, click on the “Club Information” heading, then “Board of Directors and Committees”, and then scroll down on click on “RCC Annual Meet-ing”. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about the annual meeting or any other club matters. One of the items I shared with those in attendance at the annual meeting is what I like to refer to as the value wheel. For many of you golf is the center of why you belong to RCC; but there is SOOOO much more at your Club then just golf. How many differ-ent “spokes” of the wheel are you involved in at the Club? In the future we are going to be adding even more to what is available to you as a member of this great Club. From organized hiking, biking, canoe/kayak, winter activities and more. Stay tuned as we begin to introduce these additional member benefit programs. Speaking of the Club’s website, have you visited it lately? We are making continual enhancements on both the member side and the public side of the website. To date, most of the work has been done on the member side. I encourage you to log on to the website as a member and save this as a favorite. When you are in the website, please click on “Member Information” then “Member Directory”. We now have an alpha search. Find your name, click on it and then click on “Profile” in the upper right portion of the screen. From here, you can update your information; address, phone numbers, interests, etc… In time we are hopeful this becomes your “go to” for all member information, event sign-up, etc… Stay tuned, there is much more to come with the website. I am very excited to be here as your new General Manager and excited about what the future of this club holds. It is promising and bright, and I will do everything I can to enhance your member experience and the growth of this Club. Thank you, Mark Amberson General Manager

Each winter, the following letter is communicated to the membership in various forms regarding the Riverside Coun-try Club cross country ski trail system and the requests I make for the health of the golf course as it pertains to this winter activity. Unfortunately, already I see ski tracks across your greens, tees, and fairways. I mention this because I feel we provide a reasonably good cross country skiing experience without the need to go off trail. Please pass this information on to your cross country skiing friends and help us in our efforts to maintain and improve your great club. The cross country ski season has officially started, so I would like to take this opportunity to pass on a few thoughts on how our members and guests can help us with the maintenance of the trails, and, more importantly, the health of the grass on the golf course.
After a significant snow event, the areas to be addressed are prioritized as follows: Club and tennis parking areas Club walks Paddle courts Cross country ski trail system (Depending on the amount of
snow, it may take a couple of days to get the trail system groomed and the trail set. Please be patient.)
Trash cans and plastic bags will be located around the trail system. Please use them as much as possible.
The trail system begins and ends at the north end of the club parking lot. This location is the only entrance and exit to the trail system. Please park your vehicles at the north end of the parking lot to begin your activities. In general, this area provides plenty of parking space and room to load and unload your equipment and to let your dogs run around without getting into traffic in the main areas of the club parking.
*PLEASE STAY ON THE TRAIL.* The trail system has been routed so as to minimize wear and damage to the grass on the golf course. Ultimately, the golf course is the most important, and valuable, outdoor facility of your club. The isolated compac-tion of the individual skier will damage the grass, especially the low cut grass on the greens, tees, and fairways. This damage is visible in the spring and will take extra care to repair the damage. The existing routing provides miles of good, beautiful skiing while minimizing damage to the golf course.
Thank you for your help and understanding. Have a terrific winter. Kurt Klonsinski, Golf Course Superintendent
