2014 Men’s Retreat The annual GSL Men’s Retreat is scheduled for April 25-27 at St. Columba Episcopal Conference and Retreat Center. All men are invited to attend….GSL parishioners, guests and friends. The Rev. Andy Andrews, Dean of St. Mary’s Cathedral, will be our retreat facilitator this year. Our theme for the weekend is "The Eucharist, the Ball Game and the Screen Porch….The Chronicles of Columba." Thanks to a generous grant from Father Richard, the rates for this year’s retreat are nearly half the normal fee: double occupancy

is $61 per person and single occupancy is $141 per person. Please see Rob Clark or Ed Hord if you have any questions, or visit the sign-up table in Trezevant Hall before or after the 10:30 service this Sunday. You can register and pay online at www.gracestlukes.org/events/mens-retreat/.

The Memphis Men's & Women's Chorale present... Walking in MemphisMark your calendars for what is always an outstanding concert! The Memphis Men's and Women's Chorale will perform "Walking in Memphis: Greatest Hits of the 60s, 70s 80s & Beyond." The concert is Sunday, March 30, at 7:00 p.m. at Grace-St. Luke's. Admission is free (suggested donation $10). For more information, please visit www.memphismenschorale.org. GSL is pleased to be the home for the MMC rehearsals throughout the year, and also grateful for our members who are in the chorale!

Chapman Morrow, Parish Development Officer I am delighted to announce that Chapman Morrow has accepted the position of development officer at GSL, and she will begin work on Apr. 1. Chapman is a parishioner, married to Chip Morrow, and they have a daughter, Mary Chapman, who is a very active member of our EYC. Chapman is also a lawyer, who recently completed her term as the president of GSL's school board. She is going to work part-time for us, focusing on two areas: 1) launching planned giving at GSL and 2) growing our base of annual pledges to the parish. A number of different individuals and committees have helped me to see the need for this position. For example, both the Endowment and the Stewardship committees are delighted with this hire, as one might

imagine, because these committees work strategically to ensure that Grace-St. Luke's will be a vital parish in the 21st century and beyond. Richard Lawson

Announcement from the Rector & Senior Warden: Church Proper CommitteeWe are happy to announce that the vestry has approved the establishment of a Church Proper Committee to oversee the renovation of the church interior in the summer of 2015. The year of 2015 is the 75th anniversary of the merger of Grace and St. Luke's into one parish, and we believe a renovation is a wonderful way to remember our past as we pray for God's blessing upon our parish's next 75 years. We anticipate that this renovation will include painting, new lighting, acoustical modifications, pew repair, and preservation of the beautiful woodwork in the chancel. We also have received a memorial gift to renovate

the sacristy. Our hope is that much of this work can be completed without a capital campaign. Sidney Hickey, a member of the vestry, has agreed to chair this committee. The seven member committee includes Sidney as chair, the senior warden, the rector, Jimpsie Ayres, Frank Langford, Hallie Peyton, and Anna Robbins. Sidney and the committee are committed to providing regular updates in the leaflets and Enews when they have updates on their progress. Sidney also welcomes parishioners to email her ([email protected]) with suggestions about anything that needs repair or attention in the church. Richard Lawson & Antoinette Cheney
