WEBENCON is the key for increasing the energy efficiency in companies of all types and sizes.

Industry

The operational energy management also becomes an increasingly important issue in the industry. There are a variety of reasons for that: increasing energy costs and more stringent environmental requirements on one hand and the desired certification in accordance with the energy management standard ISO 50001 on the other hand. Additionally, WE-BENCON will help companies to improve their competitiveness by proportionally passing on fixed and production-linked variable energy costs to the product costs.Energy data management systems create a high level of cost transparency, detect con-siderable saving potentials for energy and costs and illustrate different energy issues.

WEBENCON identifies and defines required key figures and basic data for machines, refrigeration plants, processing and production processes, production halls, warehouses and office buildings to enable an energetic evaluation.

Administration buildings

Administration and office buildings are particularly demanding in terms of energy data management software and the orga-nisational energy management. They often require more energy or more money for cooling in summer than heating in winter. The user behaviour plays a significant role: if you compare administrative and office buildings with facilities of different utilisations, you will find out that the user has an above-average influence on energy consumption. WEBENCON in combination with our en-ergy management services detects energy saving potentials to enable an economic and sustainable development.

Schools and universities

Municipalities, public organisations and training centres like schools and univer-sities suffer from a scarcity of financial resources and have to save money. A major approach for saving money lies within the energy costs as there is a hidden enor-mous and undiscovered saving potential which has to be taken advantage of. An energy data management in connection with an effective measuring concept helps identifying low-investment potentials for increasing the energy efficiency.

WEBENCON provides the basic informa-tion to allow a targeted and optimised use of all instruments for stock renewal. The proven rule also applies for saving energy:A small leak will sink a great ship.

Hospitals

Hospital managers are changing their views as it relates to energy supply. This fact is supported by an increasing cost pressure in the health care market and cost saving potentials in the field of energy supply.

Planning and implementing measures which are aimed at the rational use of en-ergy requires an energy data management system which can represent the highly complex energy consumption structures in hospitals.

WEBENCON knows manifold components of technical hospital equipment and provi-des all necessary modules for the integrati-on of special communication interfaces.

Trade and commerce

The functional diversity of the energy management software is an important criterion for assessing an energy data management system. It shall be flexible with regard to migra-tion, changes in the use of area and its size, branch structures, opening hours and customer frequencies. Furthermore, espe-cially in trade, it has to be able to integrate national branch networks in a system.Different climatic conditions, categories and sizes of branches with varying features must be taken into consideration as well.

WEBENCON is web-based and client capable and enables automatic evaluations and proportional utility billing. It considers branch-specific issues and meets the spe-cific requirements of trade.

Energy supply companies

Energy supply companies increasingly act as energy management service providers in order to obtain long-term customer loyalty. They make customers aware of using their energy effectively and offer energy consul-ting and contracting. Energy supply companies often maintain and operate the plants of their customers from different locations. The customers are at different places as well. Therefore the network and client capability of the energy data management system and the automa-tion and communication of evaluations are of great significance.

WEBENCON generates energetic infor-mation which allows recognizing energy and costing saving potentials. These data serve as a basis for the optimisation of ope-rational processes, the use of energy-effi-cient equipment and systems and for the composition of conventional and renewable energy sources.

Reduction of energy tax by introducing an energy management system (EnMS)

Aim of ISO 50001

The general aim of the standard ISO 50001 is to support compa-nies in the process of establishing systems and processes for the improvement of their energy performance. Being committed to this systematic approach, an organisation shall be enabled to improve its energy performance, to increase its energy efficiency and to optimise its energy utilisation.

A consistent EnMS helps companies of all types, sizes and branches to take advantage of unused energy efficiency potentials and to implement targeted measures.

Due to the scarcity of resources, the introduction and implementati-on of an efficient EnMS is absolutely necessary. It is environmentally friendly, saves money, secures our future and ... ... is subsidised by the state.

EEG - The German Renewable Energy Act

The German Renewable Energy Act (EEG, 2012) includes a special compensation scheme for manufacturing companies with high energy consumption. The scheme shall maintain the economic competitiveness of these companies. Our company and our energy management data system WEBENCON will support you to reduce your energy costs by means of refunds.

The Energy Tax Act

Manufacturing companies have been granted benefits for the elec-tricity and energy tax since 1999. Applying the new regulation of the so-called peak equalisation which has been in force since 2013, the benefits are linked with energy efficiency measures required by the respective company. The new regulation means a complete system change as only those companies will benefit from subsidies that introduce a certified EnMS and achieve considerable savings.

Subsidies for small and medium-sized enterprises

The energy efficiency fund which intends to support a rational and economical use of energy offers interesting incentives for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). These companies are encoura-ged to invest in highly-efficient and available technologies which will put them in the situation to sustainably secure an economical and rational use of energy within their own company.

Energy management system (EnMS) model in accordance with ISO 50001

The main focus of ISO 50001 is the continuous impro-vement of the energy performance of an organisation. This standard describes the requirements on compa-nies as it relates to the introduction, implementation, maintenance and improvement of an EnMS. Being committed to this systematic approach, an organisa-tion shall be enabled to improve its energy efficiency and to optimise its energy utilisation.

An EnMS in accordance with ISO 50001 ensures a continuous and systematic improvement of the energy performance within an organisation. The processes of the ISO 50001 have a clear objective: The energy consumption of companies has to be reduced considerably and the energy efficiency shall be increased.

Benefit from considerable energy cost savings

Studies and experiences have proven that companies can save up to 15 % of energy costs by introducing an EnMS in conjunction with low cost investment measures.

By means of a sustainable EnMS over a period of several years, a saving potential of up to 30% for the industry and buildings is realistic and economically viable.

By using an EnMS, it is possible to reduce the costs for peak loads considerably. For this purpose, you just have to implement some organisational measures.A detailed overview on consumptions and load curves are an excellent starting point for better tariff negotia-tions with your energy supply company.

WEBENCON - Communication media and networks

Interfaces for data collection

Each energy management system (EnMS) is based on data which are provi-ded by different systems and sources. The more manifold the information are, the more detailed and comprehensive the evaluations and functions are which are provided by the energy data management system to its users and other IT systems.WEBENCON contains a wide variety of interfaces for data acquisition which is a prerequisite for the integration of an energy data management system in existing structures. KNX (Konnex) is applied for the decentralised networking of

sensors and actuators. WEBENCON uses the interface for the collection of energy data, e.g. from KNX electricity meters.

M-Bus (Meter-Bus) is a frequently used field bus, especially for the collection of consumption data (integration via server connection or gateway).

Energy measuring systems or PCs can be connected by using the Modbus communication protocol (integration via server connection or gateway).

LONMark (Local Operating Network) is used for networking sensors and actuators in the field of building automation. WEBENCON applies this interface if it is required to collect LON meter data (integration via server connection or gateway).

A web service is a service which is heterogeneously distributed in web systems and usable for all applications. WEBENCON automatically imports data via XML by means of web services from the internet.

WEBENCON offers manual data input via smart phone or tablet PC with previous route planning for the manual collection of energy data.

The file format CSV (Comma-Separated Values) describes the structure of a text file for the purpose of saving or the exchange of data. Most IT systems on basis of a database can generate files in the CSV format which can be imported into the SQL database by WEBENCON.Selected data from IT systems of the client, e.g. ERP merchandise ma-nagement systems, BDE operating data logging, SCADA - Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition or FM / CAFM - Computer Aided Facility Management can be imported automatically into the energy data ma-nagement system.

The Excel templates within WEBENCON make it possible to tailor all evalu-ations and cost overviews to individual user needs. In this way the user can easily implement his simple or complex layout wishes and calculations.

BACnet is a communication protocol for „Building Automation and Control Networks“ and allows data sharing of different systems and manufacturers.

ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) is a standardised database inter-face which is used by SQL as database query language. The WEBENCON SQL database server allows data exchange with other SQL databases via ODBC.

OPC (OLE for Process Control) is a standardised software interface which enables applications of different manufacturers to exchange data. The WEBENCON OPC client facilitates the connection of all available OPC servers of any system.

The quality of an energy data management system does not only depend on its diversity of data collection but also on its user-friendliness, clarity and com-prehensibility of visualisations and it should have a wide range of capabilities for structuring and outputting data. WEBENCON offers a wide variety of options for the processing and output of data and it therefore meets the requirements for the integration of the energy data management system in existing structures.

All consumption data and further data from DIGICONTROL building automation systems and WEBVISION building management systems are also directly available within WEBENCON.

Transferring selected energy data to other IT systems, e.g. ERP merchandise management systems, BDE operating data logging, SCADA - Supervisory Con-trol and Data Acquisition or FM / CAFM - Computer Aided Facility Management can be realized via CSV files. WEBENCON individually generates CSV files which are suited to the structures of external IT systems.

ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) is a standardised database interface which is used by SQL as database query language. The WEBENCON SQL database server allows data exchange with other SQL databases via ODBC.

By linking the databases of WEBENCON with WEBVISION, all energy data are available for the technical facility management. Being based on the evaluations of the provided information, production and building processes can be optimised event driven.

Visualisation and data output

You just need a common server on the operator stations to run WEBENCON. The visualisation of the energy data by means of WEBENCON is distinguished by user-friendliness, clarity and comprehensibility and allows operating the system intuitively.

WEBENCON automatically sends evaluations and cost overviews as Excel files and/ or, if necessary, as PDF files by email.

PROFIBUS DP (Process Field Bus - Decentralised Peripherals) are par-ticularly used in manufacturing and process technology and ensure the communication of devices by different manufacturers.
