SUSPENSION OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCEPOPULAR EDUCATION AND CITIZENSHIP: EXPERIENCES AND CHALLENGES
The Local Commission responsible for preparing the International Conference “Popular Education and Citizenship: Experiences and Challenges”, scheduled to be held in Rio de Janeiro, from 20 to 24 July 2020, considering the pandemic of COVID-19 and the serious risks to individual and collective health, informs: 1) The conference has been suspended and should take place on another date, to be later notified. Until the establishment of a new date, registration and submission of proposals will be suspended. 2) The Local Commission will continuously monitor the evolution of the situation and will only make new decisions in accordance with the guidelines of the authorities of the Ministry of Health, the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization; 3) All people who have registered and paid the fees will be considered already registered for the event. 4) Those who wish to request a refund of the registration fees must send an email to the following address: [email protected] Finally, we express our wishes that everyone remains healthy and that we can adequately contain and overcome the pandemic through both responsible action of and solidarity between governments, public health services and all civil society.
