MEDICAL ETHICS & CULTURE EMSA PILLAR

At NCM 2012 prepare yourself for an inspiring and exciting adven-ture with brand new Medical Ethics and Culture (E&C) Pillar. Due to some reconfiguration in EMSA European Board this year we could devote more attention to promoting cultural events and initiatives among medical students. Much more involvement of many EMSAi was also recognized in the field of medical ethics.

On Friday 11th in the Pillar Session you will have the wonderful opportunity not only to talk about but also to EXPERIENCE the remarkably successful Movies and Medicine project. You’ve never witnessed it? You are in the right place, with the best company and in ideal circumstances to try it! Do you know M&M well? Then most probably you are under its charm. Let’s feel it together!

On Saturday 12th during the session we will take a brief yet thrill-ing travel through the structure of EMSA E&C Pillar. You will havea quick look at Cultural Injection posters, watch some photos fromthe Doctor’s Band concert in Turkey, take home (literally) a piece ofwhat EMSA Trans Plantation project consists of and see how MedEth News is being edited. We will have a look at the 8 fascinatingprojects that YOU established this year. ANNOUNCEMENT: there will be a little surprise for the Coordinators in charge of those Pro-jects :)

Don’t miss the awards ceremony! ;)

Sunday 13th is the day when we will take one step forward in our communication skills and simpletips on how to deal better with emotional situations. You have most probably heard about the Bologna Process before. But hearing does not necessarily mean knowing. I suggest you not to miss the NCM without making yourself familiar with the implementation of the Bologna Declaration which shapes the education system in Europe!

Summer is getting close by and some of us have probably started dream-ing about the summer holidays! Have you considered filling in your holiday with a school-like educational, vacation-like fun, and journey-like exiting event? Yes, the events I am thinking about are the Summer Schools! The other option for an extremely worthwile summertime is being part of the Student TaskForce in AMEE Conference! AMEE (As-sociation of Medical Education in Europe), organizes the largest Medi-cal Education related conference each year. Join the session and dis-cover the details and the opportunities ;-)How was the last World AIDS Day spent? What do you think about the EMSA WAD Questionnaire? Have you heard about the Candlelight Memorial? In ME Pillar, you will not only hear it but experience!

12th of May, on Saturday we will talk about the Teddy Bear Hospital, and then work on consturcting the TBH Handbook together. Partici-pants with high interest are needed! :) The Project is popular and has no guide for beginners, YET… Let’s fill this gap! This year we are expanding the Project together with friends from pharmaceutical faculties! Let us know your expectations and do not forget to check if you have TBH enthusiastic EPSA members in your university.

NATIONAL COORDINATORS SESSION

NC-SESSION On Sunday, during the trainings, the National Coordinators of EMSA (EMSA-NCs) will meet during the NC-session.

This will be from 16:30 till 20:00!

Since the EMSA General Assembly in Athens the position of National Coordinator (NC) is obligatory. Having this position mandatory makes it easier for the EEB to communicate with the FMOs, but as with eve-rything new, there is room for improvement. During this session for NC we will try to find the best way to make fruitful use out of this new national ´layer´.

We invite all NCs and interested Local Coordinators (LCs) from coun-tries without an NC to this session!
