supply power to the Alausa

responsible for 80% of water supply

LWC can now pump over 130

million gallons of water daily

ISLAND POWER EXPANSION (IPP2)

For Lagos State Government to develop, through public private partnership (PPP), the first integrated and fully independent power generation, distribution and public lighting solution in

Nigeria. This will provide 24 hrs uninterrupted power supply to crucial Lagos State facilities within the health, education, security, water, waste management, science & technology, judicial, sport

and transportation sectors in Lagos Island.

BACKGROUND •The Island Power project is a 10MW Independent power project that also includes an 18km dedicated underground distribution network which supplies power to the •General Hospital (Lagos Island); •High Court (Catholic Mission Street); •High Court Annex (TBS); •Magistrates Court (JLC Taylor Court); •Island Maternity Hospital (Lagos Island); • State House (Marina), •E-learning centre, inner and outer Marina Street lights and street light installations on 20 Streets within Lagos Island.

The Problem

- Approximately 1% of Lagosians currently practice Energy Conservation

- On average Lagos State receives 1000MW of Electrical Power from the grid

- Lagos has a population of over 18million people

- The Energy is not sufficient but still being Wasted

- Energy Wastage is most popular within the Low income citizens
