Year 9 Options Process - Key Dates Wednesday 27th March – Year 9 Options Evening – 5:30pm - 7:30pm At Options Evening, all students will be able to collect their personalised Year 9 options booklet outlining our Key Stage 4 curriculum, as well as their Spring Progress Report. The evening will begin with a presentation in the school hall at 5:30pm. Afterwards, you and your child will be given the opportunity to visit individual subject areas and find out more about the courses on offer at Key Stage 4. The evening will finish at 7:30pm. Thursday 4th April – GCSE Options Taster Day Students will be given the opportunity to take part in GCSE taster sessions which will allow them to sample the subject content and skills that will covered in different subjects during Key Stage 4. These lessons will showcase the increased rigour and challenge that students will experience during their GCSE courses and support them in making informed and appropriate GCSE choices. Thursday 25th April – Year 9 Parents Evening – 4:30pm - 7:30pm If you have any further queries regarding Options, there will be another opportunity to ask questions during parents evening. As well as checking your child’s progress, if your child is considering choosing that subject as one of their options, you will be able to ask the teachers for subject-specific guidance and advice. Ms Borde, Year Leader - Year 9

GCSE D&T NEA Deadline Just to remind you that the final deadline for GCSE DT Coursework is 1st April. This includes all practical work and the final evaluation. Please ensure that your child completes all the work set ready to hand in on this date. If they are behind with practical work they MUST attend additional sessions after school or at lunchtime in order to catch up. Please note that as the coursework makes up 50% of the GCSE grade it is very important that students complete this to a high standard. Ms Short, Faculty Leader - Art & Design
