I would like to be an archeologist. I would specialize in Egyptology. That would make me an Egyptologist. I would study ancient Egyptian history, language, religion and art from 5000 years before Christ.

History of Egyptology

The first explorers were the ancient Egyptians themselves. Thutmose IV restored the Sphinx and carved the famous Drem Stele. Less then two centuries later, Prince Khaemwese fourth son of Ramesses II identified and restored historic building, tombs and temples including the pyramids.

Modern Egyptology

Egyptology’s modern history begins with the invasion of Egypt by Napoleon Bonaparte. Since 1809 all investigations of Egypt were mapped and recorded.

Why Egyptology?

When I was 12 I visited Egypt. I went on a holiday with my family. I saw many interesting things and I liked that trip very much. That’s why I wish to be an archeologist.

Becoming an Egyptologist

To become an Egyptologist I should learn English, French and German, history, science, computing and courses to improve my writing and research skills. Art programs are also very important. It takes about eight years of university to become an Egyptologist.
