Though my veins runs the blood of my ancestors, who have taught me
to continue on and to never give up. Booker T. Washington “lifted the
veil of ignorance from his people and pointed the way to progress
through education and industry.” I stand on the shoulders of giants,
men and women whose veil of ignorance have been lifted and life
through education has begun. I was told that I would never succeed
because of the color of my skin. Now I am in this profession to let
others know that they can and I am living proof. The most powerful
weapon in life is an educated mind.
As an educator I want to be that voice which helps bridge that gap. I
am going to lead by example that you can come from nothing and be
powerful beyond measure. Through engaging lessons, incorporating
technology, differentiated instruction, and hands on activities and
experiments I am confident that progress will be made.
