First aid is the provision of immediate care to a victim with
an injury or illness, usually attended by a lay person, and performed within a limited skill range. First aid is normally performed until the injury or illness is satisfactorily dealt with (such as in the case of small cuts, minor bruises, and blisters) or until the next level of care, such as a paramedic or doctor, arrives.
To make the students aware of the aim, priorities &
procedures of ‘First-Aid’ the lecture of Dr. Praharsh Rajyaguru [MD BHMS] was arranged in the school premises. He demonstrated the procedures of First Aid in various causalities like bone injury, burns & scalds, wounds & bleeding etc.
He also demonstrated the steps of CPR [Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation] & explained the process of Electrical Cardio Version [CV] which is used to reset the heart rhythm back to its normal.
Students enjoyed the session where they learned about
basic First-Aid & its application.

CBSE organized a two-day- ASL training programme for the teachers teaching English in classes-IX – XII to standardize students’
communication skills. Any learning that takes place needs to be practiced, measured and to be evaluated on the basis of the
outcome. Eventually, CBSE has developed these ASL techniques in collaboration with CEFR i.e. Common European Framework
Reference.
The workshop was attended by more than 90 teachers teaching English in CBSE schools of different regions of western India. Ms.
Munmun Bhattacharya, Smt. Sipra Chakrabarti and Mr. Deepak Sachdev represented S.V. They made a mark by sharing their
classroom teaching techniques, up-to-date knowledge of CBSE Circulars and their study materials.

‘CBSE –ASL WORKSHOP’: NOVEMBER 27 & 28, 2013
The session was completely activity based. The activities were supported by a number of handouts and PPT presentations. By
working on these handouts, teachers had a hand-on experience how to develop and nurture the listening and speaking skills
among the students.
The session ended with the actual ASL Worksheet given by the CBSE. The teachers took the tangible test to understand the
practical problem.
The great personalities of India are the
role model for the younger generation. We must
read the biographies of our great leaders &
contributors to get lessons from their life style and
to chalk out the path of success.
The S.V. Library gave that precious
opportunity to the young girls of class 6th & 7
th to
select their favourite personality for ‘Life-Sketch’
presentation. The girls captivated the audience by
telling the stories of the life of selected
personalities. The presentation was so motivating
and fascinating that we wished the programme to
be continued even after it got over.
The girls enjoyed each moment of their
presentation. They were so confident and so
effortless on the stage that it was a tough task for
the jury members Mr. Shailesh & Ms. Shobha to
choose the best.

‘BUDDING ARTISTS’: CONTESTS/COMPETITIONS: 2013
‘HOSTEL ACTIVITIES’: NOVEMBER-DECEMBER: 2013
Param pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj is the inspirer and mentor of our school Swaminarayan Vidyapith.
The school is enlightened by His vision, progresses on the path of His mission. It has conceptualized the
values and ethos of His philosophy. The school is not only grooming the girls into sharp and dynamic
future citizens but also enlightens them spiritually, intellectually and emotionally.
A week-long cultural programme was held where the girls presented various melodious and rhythmic ‘bhajans’ to pay tribute to
Swami Bapa and to spread the message of love, peace and harmony. The talent, skill and the creativity were exhibited through the
decoration of the school building and the ‘Rangoli’ was made in the Prayer Hall. They choreographed brilliant dance steps on the
‘kirtans’ sung by the girls. They presented value based skit to highlight the socially acceptable values and behaviour.
To make the girls aware of Swami Bapa’s philanthropic works, power point presentation was shown to them in the auditorium.
Special ‘prasad’ was distributed to commemorate the occasion.
Life-Skills are the skills that help us to take decisions based on logical process of what to do? Why to do? How to do? & when to
do? And so, these skills are very important to be learned at young age.
Keeping this in mind S.V. Library organized an activity based on core Life-Skills. In this ‘Story Telling’ competition the participants
of class IV & V were given stories by the Librarian Ms Sangita Bhatt, which they had to prepare & tell to the audience with
understanding & expressions. Each story depicted the integrated Life-Skills with it .Participants also explained the Life-Skill learned
by the story at the end of the story they told.
The detail is as under.
