+Pacing

Pacing is the time it takes to go from one cut to another cut. They can vary from fast paces to slow paces. Slow paces are used for more calm scenes such as conversations between certain individuals. Fast paces are used for more intense scenes such as a car crash and somebody getting seriously hurt.

+CGI

Computer Graphical Images (CGI) is used whenever a person wants to make something look more effective. In this scene, we see that CGI are used for the rods where they shoot through inside the car window and through the mans head. CGI is effective for scenes such as this, to create bloody scenes for horror movies.

+Slow Cut Editing

This shot is taken over the shoulder from the mother and the daughter. This shot shows the connection between the mother and the daughter that they have and this lasts for about 3 seconds. This is used to show that a conversation is happening between two individuals who have a bond with each other. The shots of the conversation last for about 30-50 seconds before the crash and the fast pace editing combined with CGI comes along.

+Fast-Pace Editing

Fast-Pace Editing is where the camera moves at a fast speed. Fast-Pace Editing is often used for intense scenes such as fights, car crashes and many more. In the movie the descent, we see that fast pace editing is used for the car crash scene, where the car crashes into the other one and the poles start flying. We see that CGI is also used with fast pace editing for the poles. The amount of shots which were used in the car crash were about 2-3 shots, for the CGI effect of the poles. This edit pace increases from the slow pace editing to show how intense a car crash is.
