FATHER GUY’S QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Fr. Guy’s Q&A group called “EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH...but were afraid to ask!” will meet once again in April in the Community Room. This casual evening of questions and discussion is designed for adults who are interested in learning more about their faith. Questions are written by participants anonymously on slips of paper and pulled from a hat. You are never too old to learn about the faith! The next meeting will take place on Monday, APRIL 11 at 7:00PM in the Community Room. Light refreshments will be served. Come get all your questions about the Church cheerfully answered, especially if you have questions about Easter and Easter practices. Ask those who attended last time; we learned something AND it was fun!

Please note our regular Confessions on Saturdays from 4:00 – 4:45pm will resume on Saturday, April 16

FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR Surrexit Dominus! Alleluia! The Lord is Risen! Alleluia! Despite the fact that it is still only March and Spring is only a week old we, nevertheless, share the ancient greeting filled with joy and hope that Christ is truly risen. We share this message each year and, yet, it still

sometimes seems difficult to believe it. The world and our lives can so often be filled with difficulties and challenges. Too frequently it becomes difficult to have hope. The sadness and the danger that always seem to pervade our lives close in around us and we often feel weighed down with cares or hardships. Into this gloom a ray of hope shines. Jesus Christ, God-With-Us, who looked to be defeated by His enemies and overpowered by death has vanquished His foes and won a victory for us. The battle is already over and He has triumphed! We don’t always get that. We don’t always feel as though the victory is already ours but, truly, it is. Even though there is still much for us to suffer and endure in this life ultimately sin and death have already lost and the Lord offers us the possibility to share in a new and glorified life. We don’t just have the opportunity for this new life after we have died in this world. Rather, through the Church; the Sacraments; the Word of God alive in our hearts we share in the new and glorified life of the Risen Christ here and now. Alleluia!

Because of our Baptism we are already part of the Body of Christ. The stain of Original Sin has been washed away and the bonds of slavery to sin that bound our ancestors are broken. Christ has flung open the gates of heaven and also continually opens wide the door of mercy to all those who seek forgiveness, refreshment and light.

Alleluia! All we need do is place our faith and our trust in Him. He who did not abandon us to the power of sin and death but suffered much for our sakes will never abandon us in those times when life sort of beats us up the most. He will always hear us when we pray; He will always guide us when we are lost; He will always strengthen us when we falter.

Brothers and Sisters my prayer for each and every one of you and those you love is that the light and the hope and the sheer joy of the Resurrection will fill your hearts and your minds and your lives. The Lord is truly Risen! Alleluia!
