AGENDA

Dr Gyneth Bibera (Gigi) is a Pediatric infectious disease specialist and was part of the leadership team of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society of the Philippines prior to her current role in GSK. She is regarded as key opinion leader with broad experience in dealing with local and multinational pharmaceutical companies as speaker, medical advisor, and module developer specifically in vaccines and antimicrobials. She is an academician and clinician who has chaired both academic and clinical departments in Pediatrics and Microbiology in the Philippines. She was also involved as principal investigator or co-investigator in various vaccine-related researches and content expert for handbooks and clinical practice guidelines in pediatric infectious diseases in her country. Currently, she is based in Singapore and is part of the global medical affairs team for Rotavirus vaccine and the MMRV portfolio providing medical support throughout Asia Pacific.

Dr. Woo Yun Sohn obtained her MD in Yonsei University School of Medicine in Seoul, Korea and became Pediatric Specialist after training in the Samsung Medical Center Sungkyunkwan University. In 2012, Dr. Sohn was appointed the Head of Pediatric Vaccines AP GSK, responsible for management and delivery of Scientific Activities for Paediatric Vaccines across Asia Pacific. In 2013 she was appointed Director, Area Medical Lead Vaccines SEA responsible for engaging in scientific exchange, identification and management of scientific projects and clinical trial activities across South East Asia. From 2016 onwards Dr. Sohn has been the Director, Cluster Medical Lead Vaccines GSK, heading the GSK Vaccines Medical Organization across South East Asia. She has worked with various experts to facilitate scientific discussions and generate data to increase access to life saving vaccines in Asia. Dr. Sohn is co-author of various articles on infectious disease, vaccine clinical trials and health economic studies; she has given more than hundreds talks and presentations at conferences and meetings with particular focus on Paediatric Vaccines and HPV in Asia.

Dr. Rupert Jakes is the Medical Affairs Director, Vaccines at GSK Malaysia. He graduated with an MPhil (1996) and PhD (2001) in Epidemiology from the University of Cambridge, UK.In 1996 Rupert moved to Singapore to help establish a research unit in Clinical Trials and Epidemiology for the National Medical Research Council, with a focus on studying the epidemiology of breast cancer. Following post-doctoral research at the University of Cambridge and the UK Medical Research Council, studying diet and activity in relation to the risk of chronic disease, Rupert joined GSK’s Research and Development division in 2005, before relocating to Singapore in 2007. Since joining GSK Rupert has held positions in epidemiology supporting pharmaceuticals and in vaccines and in Medical Affairs.
