SAP E-Sourcing – Projects

Enhancements in SAP E-Sourcing 5.1 Business Benefits

Creating a project from a UDOYou can create a project from a user-defined object (UDO). This functionality is enabled for all five of the available UDOs. The data in all field extensions with matching ID and data type is copied over.

This provides a standard solution to the most often-used strategic

sourcing business process, where a UDO is created to capture

sourcing requests and opportunities. A sourcing professional later

reviews these requests before creating a project.

SAP E-Sourcing – RFx

Enhancements in SAP E-Sourcing 5.1 Business Benefits

Submitting an RFx response

Suppliers can use a Submit button instead of performing a

response phase change for a request for proposal (RFP) or

request for quotation (RFQ) or request for information (RFI).

With this feature, suppliers no longer have to change the phase of

the response to submit their responses. Now it is very intuitive for

suppliers, who often have very little training on the application.

SAP E-Sourcing – RFx

Enhancements in SAP E-Sourcing 5.1 Business Benefits

“Full quantity” bidding The buyer can allow or prevent the supplier from changing the

quantity

Bidding can be set to ”full quantity” or ”partial quantity” only

The setting can be preset on the RFx template

For every RFx, the buyer has more control over the responses

being submitted by the suppliers.

SAP E-Sourcing – Auctions

Enhancements in SAP E-Sourcing 5.1 Business Benefits

Notification attachment

The buyer can add an attachment to an auction notification that is

sent out to suppliers if a publication date is specified.

This feature enables the buyer to communicate important

information about the auction in the invitation e-mail to the

supplier.

SAP E-Sourcing – Auctions

Enhancements in SAP E-Sourcing 5.1 Business Benefits

Streamlined auction change process

Reserve price, current price, start price, and target price can be

edited directly in the line item collection list.

These enhancements streamline auction processing by reducing

the number of screens and clicks.
