    Class KG

Kindergarten students have been very busy over the last few weeks. We are all settled in and have been doing some fabulous work.

We have been learning lots of new single sounds and even completing artworks of animals starting with the sound we are working on. We all created some beautiful looking turtles.

Students are also working hard to count past twelve and recognise these numerals as well.

    Miss Green

    Class 3/4V

We have had a very busy couple of weeks. Students have enjoyed going swimming everyday and have learnt lots of skills to help them.

We have been working hard on our persuasive writing topic. Students have come up with some great pieces of writing!!

The last 2 lessons during music students worked with Matt to create their own song that they are now learning on the ukulele.

Students started homework last week and lots of students brought their homework back. If students bring their homework back completed on Friday’s they will receive 5 dojo points for our reward system.

Don't forget to sign up to Seesaw to see what your student has been doing in class.

    Miss Visser

    Class 1/2H

We have had a busy 2 weeks. Some Year 2 students have been going to swimming lessons and are a lot more confident in the water.

Literacy groups have started in the classroom and lots of spelling and reading is happening everyday.

All students have been having fun during music les-sons on Wednesdays, where they have been learn-ing to play the ukulele.

Thankyou to all parents and carers who listen to their children read each day as part of their homework.

    Miss Hook

  • Class 3/6R

In writing, we have learnt how to begin with a sizzling start. Students have been producing such engaging introductions to their writing .

In Mathematics, we have been learning lots of different strategies to solve addition and subtraction questions. We also measured and planted out our vegetable garden, which will be used for cooking in our class kitchen, when it grows.

We have been very busy preparing our item for this week’s assembly. We have been studying the Geography unit "Australia's Location in the World' . They have learnt that the Earth is the planet we live on. It is made up of land and water. People have given the land and water names. They have divided the land into continents and the water into oceans.

Each student has selected an Ocean and researched an animal that would live there, and they will present their projects at the assembly.

    Mrs Raymond

    Class 5/6S

Year 5/6 have settled into routines and learning activities. We have been learning about the history of Australia as a nation, from the first Australians through to European explorers, the First Fleet and Federation.

We would like to welcome two new students to our class Tiana-Jayde and Nate.

    Intensive Swimming

What fantastic efforts have been made over the past couple of weeks by our students in Intensive Swimming.

Thank you to the attending staff for your organisation and assistance to ensure the success of the 10 day Intensive Swimming Program.

It has been a pleasure watching all the students improve their swimming skills over this time.

    Mrs Raymond

Raffle ticket request forms will be sent home soon!

  • Clean Up Australia Day 2020

Last Friday, our students participated in Clean Up Australia Day. Students kindly contributed to beautifying our school grounds by collecting rubbish that had made its way into our gardens, fence lines, playgrounds and around buildings.

I am very proud to say, each class collected around two bags each. When we all do our bit and work as a team, the job is made easier and much more fun. We are all obviously very proud of our school and appreciative of students’ efforts to keep it clean. Well done, TPS.

    HEARING HEARING HEARING HEARING HEARING

    Did you know?

that I in 10 school children have hearing issues?

Children with untreated hearing issues may suffer from speech,

    learning and behavioural problems.

How can you make sure that this is not your child?

You can have your child assessed for FREE and it can be done while your child is at school.

A Department of Education worker will be working within the school on specific days this term to

perform hearing assessments using the Sound Scouts program.

The hearing check is a simple way to identify if your child has a hearing challenge using a fun,

interactive game. You will receive an immediate report of your child’s results.

Priority will be given to Kindergarten and Year One students however if you feel that your child

may have a hearing difficulty you can ask them to see Mrs Hickson for a permission note or ring

the front office on 6552 1233 and ask for the note.

If the screening indicates there may be a hearing difficulty a referral will be made to have a

    formal assessment completed.

Is your child upset? Want to try something different to help them move on from their ‘tanty”?

Use the poster below to talk to the child about ways they can help themselves to feel better.

Cut the picture out and place it on your fridge and have the child refer to it when they are having a problem.
