GreetingsWell my friends, after seven years, 87

issues and six drum shows it is timefor me to vacate the editor’s chair andhand it over to Jules Tabberer-Stewart.It has been a great trip from start tonish and one that I have enjoyedimmensely, making many new friends, discovering new products, talking withsome of the world’s greatest playersand having many of them come andplay our shows. I never dreamed sevenyears ago that Drummer magazinewould have such a big impact on thedrumming community. There are waytoo many people to thank individually, but to everyone connected (youknow who you are) in no matter whatcapacity, I thank you all for making theride such a truly enjoyable experienceand be assured, I will see you all downthe road.

But, to this issue and I am delightedthat we nally got with Travis Barker.Robyn Flans who wrote the feature, displayed devotion above andbeyond the call, making every effortto get Travis sat down long enoughin one place to listen to his words.

It may have taken Robyn monthsof diligence, but I also have to handcredit to photographer Robert Downswho took the images. Whereas Robyn

had months, Robert was given just15 minutes (or so he told me) and he

did a fabulous job of capturing Travis’personality behind and in front of thekit in such a short space of time. I couldnot think of a better cover feature toclose out my time.

Thanks for reading Drummer , thanksfor coming to our shows and thanksfor being a part of the most excitingcommunity in the world!

Ian
