WHAT’S HAPPENING AT KPS
TEACHERS ARE LEARNERS TOO ! During Week 1 a number of our teachers participated in professional develop-
ment sessions. Mrs Gjorseska, Mr Brown and Ms Petsas continued with their L3
training. Mrs Josevski and Mrs Gibbs participated in further training to implement
the Positive Behaviour for Learning approach across the school. Mrs Jo-
sevski attending the third day of the Teaching English Language Learners to
support ESL students within the school and Mrs Gjorseska attended a network
meeting to support her role as Instruction Leader.
POSITIVE LEARNING FOR BEHAVIOUR At our school, we use Positive Behaviour for Learning – a whole-school approach for creating a posi-tive, safe and supportive school climate where students can learn and develop. Our whole school com-munity works together to establish expected behaviours and teach them to all students.
Parents and students will be noticing signage that will be displayed in various outside areas reflecting expectations of students under the three school values, Respect, Safe and Responsible.
Starting this term, students are being given new 'Caught you being good tokens' with a new school
crest reflecting our three core values. As students are awarded the tokens for exhibiting positive behav-
iours, they are informed of the school value which most complies with this behaviour. We have had a
very successful start to implementing the school's PBL model and will continue to discuss the three val-
ues during Circle time, assemblies and will analyse each value during classes as well throughout the
next year.
