est son of Mr. and Mrs.Denny Barner of Staple-ton, had the misfortuneof breaking his left armwhile riding his bicycleSunday.

Funeral services wereheld April 13 for Mrs. Ger-ald (Connie Rae) Tucker,age 23, who was fatally in-jured in a hay sled acci-dent at her ranch home30 miles northwest ofTryon.

The 1967 Senior class ofMcPherson County HighSchool presented theirclass play, “HolidayHouse,” last Friday andSaturday in the school au-ditorium. Seniors wereDan Nicholson, VickiKinsman, Darwin Mun-son, Jackie Trumbull, WyBellew, Shara McNutt,Leslie Anway and RickBlack.

APRIL 15, 1937Beulah Dutrow, daugh-

ter of Mr. and Mrs. E.M.Dutrow, and a sophomorein the McPherson CountyHigh School, won thirdplace rating in the Extem-poraneous Division at theDistrict Declamatory con-test held at Gibbon lastFriday.

Mr. and Mrs. HershelMoore are the proud par-ents of a baby boy born tothem at Tryon aboutnoon Tuesday, April 13.

During the storm Sun-day evening lightningstruck the windmilltower at the Whittakerfarm. The charge fol-lowed a radio aerial intothe house and damaged aradio set. Members of thefamily were frightenedbut uninjured.

The play to be given bythe Ladies’ Aid Saturdaynight is sure to be ahumdinger.

Ed James recentlyrented the Allen houseand has moved his familyto town. Mr. James in-tended to farm this sea-son but was unable tofind a place not alreadyrented.

Benefit dinner for Tom &Rose Licking planned

A benefit spaghetti dinner for Rose and Tom Licking is being planned Saturday,April 15, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Hooker County Fairgrounds.

Tom and Rose were involved in a ranching accident with one of their bulls andboth are currently on the mend. Rose remains at Good Samaritan Rehabilitationin Kearney and is hoping to return home very soon. Tom is up and about and tend-ing to the ranching and making frequent trips back and forth to Kearney to bewith Rose.

The benefit is being sponsored by Chuckwagon 'n Jug of Mullen, and the MullenLion’s Club.

Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy a good meal and support Rose andTom Licking.
