Practise your letter formation. Remember to
start on the red dot. Can you write lots of good ones?
Today we will be having a go at the first 20 words in an old Year 1 phonics test. Remind your child top look for diagraphs and trigraphs. They are allowed to draw on sound buttons before they sound out and decode these words. There is no time limit. Don’t tell them it is an assessment or test- just treat it like they are doing their normal phonics practise. If they can’t decode one, tell them not to worry and move on to the next word. You can tell your child when they are alien words ( they have an alien picture) or a real word ( no picture). Please see how many they are able to decode accurately without any help. Please tick each word read correctly by your child and upload this to Tapestry so that we can assess how they are doing and which sounds they still need support with. You may of course then practise any tricky words afterward but we do not want these scores.
Literacy LO: To answer a question. Activity: Can they answer questions using vocab ‘think’ and ‘because’? Which minibeast is the most awesome? Which plant is the best? Why?
