Weekly Income for May 30-31, 2020
Today we commemorate the feast of The Most Holy Trinity. This is what the Catechism of the Catholic Church Paragraph 234 says about the mystery of the Trinity:”The mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of Christian faith and life. It is the mystery of God in himself. It is therefore the source of all the other mysteries of faith, the light that enlightens them. It is the most fundamental and essential teaching in the “hierarchy of the truths of faith.” The whole history of salvation is identical with the history of the way and the means by which the one true God, Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit, reveals himself to men…”
There is no word “Trinity” in the Bible, but John in today’s gospel (John 16:12-15) gives us a glimpse on how the One true God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, reveals himself to us. “…Jesus (the
son) said to his disciples: “I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you. Everything that the Father has is mine; for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine and declare it to you."
The Most Blessed Trinity; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are three persons of God or three ways of how God reveals
himself to us. In other words, Trinity is how God loves us, because God is love. God loves us as our creator (Father), God loves us as our Lord and savior, through His Son – Jesus, and God promise to continue to be with us and loves us till the end of the time through the power of Holy Spirit. As Christians, we were all baptized in the name of the Father, the
Son and the Holy Spirit. That means we belong to the family of God. Through baptism we become sons and daughters of God. So let us glorify the Blessed Trinity:
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
