A Message From Father Aaron
Dear Friends,
Today's Gospel from the 5th week of Lent
speaks about the healing power of Jesus for the
man who was crippled and had waited for healing
for many years. It is another example of God's
mighty power to overcome human weakness and
displays his love for his people. In the same way
Jesus has the power to forgive sins.
With a word Jesus commands the man to "rise,
pick up his mat go home." God's Word is power
and salvation. An irony here is that this man had
waited for decades for what Jesus did in just a
moment. However, even though this man waited
his whole life for this moment, he never gave up.
He was persistent in coming to the healing waters,
time after time, year after year.
During these very difficult days for all of us, it
is important to remember that God is present to
us and is hearing our prayers, especially when we
are suffering. It is important for us to remember
the virtue of persistence, believing that God will
come to the rescue of his faithful people and allow
them to rise from this time of trial to graces. God
is not the author of evil or suffering but has, time
and time again, throughout salvation history,
brought good out of evil and suffering when the
faithful placed their trust in him alone. "All things
work for the good for those who love him." We
must persist in our prayers, penances and works
of mercy. We must keep hope that God is faithful.
When we persist in coming to the healing waters
of Jesus' mercy, we will rise in Easter joy!
My brothers and sisters, may we all find new
persistence and a new life in Christ!
God bless you,
Father Aaron

An Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the
Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I
desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally, come at
least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were
already there and unite myself
wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated
from You.
Amen.

Is Jesus Calling You? Is Jesus asking you to spend more time with
Him in prayer? We have one last open hour of adoration (Friday mornings
at 1-2 AM) that is needed to fill before we can begin our overnight
adoration hours. There are extra graces that come with the sacrifice of
making an overnight hour in prayer! Please prayerfully considered taking
this hour. Call Heidi at 250-1091 if interested.
THANK YOU! The Faith Formation office wants to send a HUGE thank
you to our community for continuous support with our efforts to teach
the coming generations our religion and share our faith journey. We want
to especially thank the continued efforts made by two organizations who
always hold our office and our youth close to their hearts, the Knights
of Columbus and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Both of these
organizations support our Religious Ed program and ensure we always
have what we need. Thank you for putting on breakfasts, fundraisers
and always supporting our efforts. Thank you for always creating a
welcoming atmosphere at your events and reminding us that we are all
in this faith journey together. We would like to especially thank the
Knights for hosting the breakfast last month and the Foresters for their
donation last fall. THANK YOU!!

is born in prayer and only through prayer does it
preserve and bear fruit. We ask you to stir the
hearts of all those who You call to the Priesthood

in giving everything to Jesus. Send Your Holy Spirit
upon Assumption and St. Anthony parishes as we
pray for Holy Priests and Women Religious to lead
and guide us in our faith lives. Please bless Father
Aaron as he guides us to holiness and faithfulness.
