DOOMSDAY'S DURABILITY

Though the Doomsday "animates" were imperfect clones of Doomsday, we can assume that though they are weaker, their durability is on par.

In this instance, to calculate the Doomsday "animates'" durability, let's take 'Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey #3.'

surviving the concussive force of an explosion "equal to a million nuclear blasts" on Calaton. (Photo/DC Comics)

Doomsday throws Superman into Calaton's nuclear reactors, causing an explosion "equal to a million nuclear blasts". Superman survives the explosion, but exclaims that he has found his limit due to not being able to move as a result of the concussive force of the explosion. Doomsday survives unscathed and attacks Superman.

In the Post-Crisis continuity, we will use this example as the limit to Doomsday's durability.

NUMBER CRUNCHING

H/P Doomsday is able to survive an explosion "equal to a million nuclear blasts" and continue fighting. This means that Doomsday's durability is equal to and can withstand the concussive force of a million thermonuclear weapons.

Let's crunch numbers!

Doomsday's durability = Tons of TNT of H-Bomb * 1,000,000.

Doomsday's durability = 100 * 10^6 Tons of TNT * 1,000,000.

Doomsday's durability = 10^14 Tons of TNT.

DOOMSDAY "ANIMATES'" COMBINED DURABILITIES

The Doomsday "animates" have the combined durabilities of 3 * 10^17 Tons of TNT.

Doomsday "animates'" combined durabilities = 3000 * 10^14 Tons of TNT = 3 * 10^17 Tons of TNT.

If we convert to units of energy, we get the energy of the sun per second.

Doomsday "animates'" combined durabilities = 3 * 10^17 Tons of TNT * 4.19 * 10^9 J = 1.25 * 10^27 J. In comparison, the sun produces 3.846 * 10^26 J/s or 3.846 * 10^26 W.

ENERGY PROJECTION

If Superman vaporized 837 tons of 3,000 H-Bombs, then he was able to at least generating an energy output of 1.25 * 10^27 J in a fraction of a second. He generated 326% of the energy produced by the sun per second.

NUMBER CRUNCHING

The Father Box is a New God technology that allows to open Boom Tubes, extra-dimensional portals between the Fourth World and the main DC Multiverse.

Boom Tubes are actually in a sense, wormholes, portals between the main DC Multiverse and the Fourth World.

In the interest of simplicity, let's calculate the light-years distance between Oa and the DC Multiverse. In the New 52, Oa is at the center of the DC Universe, located 600 light-years from the Andromeda Galaxy. To model, we will include a real world datum. The distance between the Andromeda Galaxy and the Milky Way is 2.5 million light years. The distance between the center of the Milky Way and the sun is 25,000 light-years.

Let's calculate the total distance:

Total distance in light-years = Distance of Oa + Distance of Andromeda Galaxy + Distance of Milky Way = 600 light-years + 2.5 * 10^6 light-years + 25,000 light-years = 2.50256 * 10^6 light-years.

Let's calculate the amount of energy necessary for space travel.

The energy necessary to accelerate one ton to 1/10th the speed of light is 4.50×1017 joules. Using the Omni-Calculator, we calculated that the light-years distance was 2.520 * 10^6 light-years at the speed of light c, close to the distance between Oa and the center of the solar system.

If we multiply our energy for space travel by a factor of 10, we get 4.50 * 10^18 J.

Energy for space travel for one ton = (4.50 * 10^17 J)(10) = 4.50 * 10^18 J.

Let's convert the energy for space travel to tons of TNT.

Energy for space travel for one ton = 1071428571.43 tons of TNT.

THE GREEN LANTERN SPACE SECTORS: HOW BIG IS THE DC MULTIVERSE?

At the beginning of the DC Universe, the Guardians of the Universe created the Green Lantern Corps in order to combat evil arising as a result of the existence of the multiverse, due to Krona's experiments on discovering the beginning of time. There was, in fact, an Oan legend that said calamity would ensue if one attempted to discover the beginning of time. And the DC multiverse was created!

The Guardians of the Universe, divided the DC Universe into 3600 space sectors taking their origin from Oa and extending towards their sector of space, in a triangulation.

Page 14: DOOMSDAY'S DURABILITY · Web viewSUPERMAN, ‘SUPERMAN/BATMAN #10’ Let's break this down! DOOMSDAY'S DURABILITY Though the Doomsday "animates" were imperfect clones of Doomsday,

Let's assume that each space sector is a cross-section of a galaxy in the DC Universe. That would mean that, the total light-years from Oa would equal 9,009,216,000 light-years or 9 billion light-years.

Size of DC Universe in light-years = 2.50256 * 10^6 light-years * 3600 space sectors = 9,009,216,000 light-years.

Assuming the 52 universes are roughly the same size, multiplying by the number 52 universes in the DC Multiverse gives 468,479,232,000 light-years.

Size of DC Multiverse in light-years = 9,009,216,000 light-years * 52 universes = 468,479,232,000 light-years.

Let's calculate the total energy required for space travel from the center of the Milky Way to Oa.

If we assume we are transporting the planet of Apokolips and that it is the mass of the sun, then we can calculate the total energy required to accelerate 1.989 * 10^27 tons for space travel.

Total energy required for space travel = 4.50 * 10^18 J * 1.989 * 10^27 tons = 8.95 * 10^45 J.

Using the Omni-Calculator, we plug in the size of the DC Multiverse, the initial acceleration which is equal to 270 times the gravity of Earth, and we assume that we are transporting the planet of Apokolips.

Total energy required for space travel = 15,485,197,102,290,030,371,556,084,403,581,268,610,955,000,000 J!

Converting into tons, gives us 1.57 * 10^42 tons.

Assuming that the punch made the shield light construct travel 1 m, Total energy required for space travel = Energy of the punch to break the shield light construct.

1.548 * 10^46 J = 1.548 * 10^46 N/1 m = 1.548 * 10^46 N/m.

Mass in tons = (Force in N)(1 ton/10^3 kg)/(Acceleration of gravity) = (1.548 * 10^46 N/m)(1 ton/10^3 kg)/(9.81 m/s^2) = 1.57 * 10^42 tons.

Converting into tons of TNT, gives us 3.69 * 10^36 tons of TNT.

Total energy required for space travel = (1.548 * 10^46 J)( 1 ton of TNT)/(4.2 * 10^9 J) = 3.69 * 10^36 tons of TNT. That is the energy necessary to destroy a large star.

SUPER STRENGTH

In order to survive the explosion of the Father Box, Green Lantern had to generate a shield light construct strong enough to withstand 3.69 * 10^36 tons of TNT tons of TNT, which is at least the energy necessary for space travel over the estimated 9,009,216,000 light-years size of the DC Universe. Keep in mind that, even travelling at the speed of light, it would take 0.14617 yrs to travel between the Andromeda galaxy and the center of the solar system. This is at least a case of Father-Than-Light travel. The energy generated by the Father Box when it opens a Boom Tube is likely exponentially greater since opening a wormhole allows for instantaneous space travel.

Page 15: DOOMSDAY'S DURABILITY · Web viewSUPERMAN, ‘SUPERMAN/BATMAN #10’ Let's break this down! DOOMSDAY'S DURABILITY Though the Doomsday "animates" were imperfect clones of Doomsday,

If Superman was able to shatter the Green Lantern shield light construct, he was able to exert at least 1.57 * 10^42 tons, equivalent to 1.548 * 10^46 N of force. He generated at least 3.44*10^27 times the energy required for space travel under current systems.
