On February 18, 2016, Residocracy Santa Monica filed a Notice of Intent to circulate a ballot measure for the November 2016 election.

the next step was for community members to address the number one concern of santa monica residents–traffic and overdevelopment. Residocracy launched the LUVE Ballot Initiative so santa monica residents can stop the overdevelopent of their city.

Attending the March 6 rally and kickoff for the LUVE Ballot Initiative petition signature gathering campaign were, from left, Tricia Crane, Residocracy Advisory Board Member; Robert Berman, gallery owner and gracious host; Armen Melkonians, Founder and Residocracy Advisory Board Member; and Kate Bransfield, Residocracy Advisory Board Member.

Residocracy Advisory Board Members, from left, Zina Josephs, Kate Bransfield, Tricia Crane, and second from right, Residocracy Founder and Advisory Board Member Armen Melkonians, are shown above as they get ready to submit the Notice of Intent to circulate a ballot measure for the November 2016 election.

We Can Make a

Difference

What LUVE will do:RequiRe voTeR AppRovAL foR:

• Major Development Review Permits.

• Development Agreements negotiated between developers and elected officials.

• Major changes to the City’s Land Use Policy Documents.

• Keep traffic from getting even worse.

• Protect the existing low-rise character of the beach town that we LUVE. • Preserve our open skies, ocean breezes, and quality of life.

• Protect renters by stopping the gentrification of existing neighborhoods.

• Eliminate the incentives given to developers by City Hall to demolish existing smaller buildings and replace them with taller larger ones.

• Get special interests out of our City Hall.

• Empower Voters to have the final say in how much development is right for Santa Monica.

On March 6 Residocracy held a rally and kick-off event for the LUVE Ballot Initiative petition signature gathering campaign.

the successful event, held at the robert Berman gallery in Bergamot station arts center, drew 300++ santa monica residents who were ready to pick up petitions to obtain the 6500 plus signatures required to qualify the LUVE initiative for the November 2016 ballot.
