• The Healing Power Of The Lord Is Available

• On Every Occasion Of Need We Should Turn To The Lord


• Matt 4:23-24 (NIV) Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. (24) News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them.

• (Mat 7:28-29 NIV) When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, (29) because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.


• The Power And Love Of A Willing Touch

• (Mat 8:1-4 NIV) When he came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. (2) A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." (3) Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy. (4) Then Jesus said to him, "See that you don't tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."


• In The Ancient World Leprosy Was The Worst Possible Disease To Have

• The Person Who Had Leprosy Was As Good As Dead -- Because His Disease Would Separate Him From The Rest Of The Community

• (Lev 13:45-46 NIV) "The person with such an infectious disease must wear torn clothes, let his hair be unkempt, cover the lower part of his face and cry out, 'Unclean! Unclean!' (46) As long as he has the infection he remains unclean. He must live alone; he must live outside the camp.


• Jesus Reached Out And Touched The Leper

• There Was Both Power & Love In His Touch

• Power = An Immediate Cure Of What Was Thought To Be An Incurable Disease


• Healing Is About The Love Of Jesus

• Not Only Can Jesus Touch You

• He Is Willing To Touch You

• The Leper Was Clean & Cured

• By One Powerful Touch

• By One Loving Touch


• The Power Of Faith Accessed Authority

• (Mat 8:5-13 NIV) When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. (6) "Lord," he said, "my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering." (7) Jesus said to him, "I will go and heal him." (8) The centurion replied, "Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. (9) For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."


• (Matt 8:10-13) When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, "I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. (11) I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. (12) But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." (13) Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go! It will be done just as you believed it would." And his servant was healed at that very hour.


• Authority Is Both Understood & Accessed By Faith

• The Centurion Knew That:

• Jesus Had Authority Over Sickness And Disease

• Jesus Could Say The Word And The Healing Would Take Place For His Servant


• Everywhere He Went -- Jesus Healed

• (Mat 8:14-15 NIV) When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. (15) He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him.


The Practicality Of Healing =

• We Need Access To Healing Because It Effects Our Ability To Minister & Serve

• In Order To Do What God Has Called Us To Do We Need Christ’s Healing Power Today


Jesus’ Healing Power Fulfills Prophecy

• (Mat 8:16-17 NIV) When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. (17) This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases."


• Jesus Has Authority To Heal Us

• Jesus Was Anointed

• To Preach

• To Set Free

• To Speed Release And Recovery


• Jesus Did Everything That He Did Acting Under Authority

• When He Healed He Did So Under Authority


• Jesus Called On His Disciples And Followers To Heal As Well

• (Luke 9:1-2) “… He gave them power and authority… to cure diseases” and He sent them out to preach the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick”


• Jesus Sent Out The 72

He Gave Them The Assignment To Heal In His Name: “heal the sick who are there”

• The Same Blessing Of Healing Now Includes All Followers Of Jesus Christ From That Time Until Now


• Authority Is Given To Us To Access The Healing Power Of God

• (John 14:12 NIV) I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.


• (Mark 16:17-18 NIV) 17 And these signs will

accompany those who believe: In my name (AUTHORITY) they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."


• Healing Comes From God – We Don’t Perform The Healings -- We Receive The Healings By The Grace Of God

• We Get The Benefits -- He Provides The Power And The Means


• Divine Healing Is An Integral Part Of The Gospel

• It Flows From The Atonement.

• When Jesus said, "'It is finished,'" the work necessary for the redemption of the whole person—spirit, soul, and body—was complete.
