PARKINGTo most easily facilitate your metered parking needs on campus, download the ParkMobile app on your smartphone and register for an account. Meters on campus do not accept coins. Short term: Paystations and parking meters: $2.50/hour

Longer term: Purchase one-day visitor permit for $10. Main Entrance Kiosk (7 a.m.–1 p.m.) Parking Sales Office (1–5 p.m.)

Evenings and weekends: Use paystations and parking meters: $2.50/hour

Some lots do not have permit requirements for evenings and weekends.

USING THE SHUT TLES AND BUSES

Q FREE campus shuttles circulate through the campus on weekdays (see map for stops).

Santa Cruz METRO buses R also circulate the campus. Adult fare is $2.

WHERE TO EATFor the authentic student experience, why not sample one of our all-you-care-to-eat dining halls? Please note that some locations may be closed during the summer, or they may have limited hours.

SEEING THE CAMPUSWarning: It’s impossible to tour all of UC Santa Cruz in one day. Our beautiful, vibrant campus takes time to explore. Here are our recommendations:

If you only have an hour, drive through the campus using the main campus loop of Hagar Drive, McLaughlin Drive, Heller Drive, and Empire Grade.

If you have half a day, center your visit around Quarry Plaza, where you can browse the Bay Tree Bookstore and easily walk to Cowell College and McHenry Library.

Or you can center your half-day visit around an academic area that interests

you, such as Science Hill (Physical & Biological Sciences), the Arts, Social Sciences, Humanities, or the Jack Baskin School of Engineering.

If you have a full day, start with an academic area that interests you, choose a lunch location, and then branch out from there to nearby areas, such as the UC Santa Cruz Farm or the Coastal Science Campus.

In addition to the main campus, important research and instruction are also held at UC Santa Cruz’s Silicon Valley Campus and Coastal Science Campus.
