This year, Ringrose Public School implemented a

program called Bounceback, which is an award

winning wellbeing and resilience program. As a whole school, the

program focused on teaching social and emotional skills to

promote supportive class and school learning environments. It

has been a pleasure to visit classrooms and to see our students

learning various skills such as bouncing back, the ability to

recognise their emotions, understanding the difference between

bullying and other kinds of anti-social behaviour as well as

developing everyday courage. I look forward to seeing what 2017

has to bring as our classroom teachers continue to teach

Bounceback using a further variety of children’s literature and by

embedding the values taught into the curriculum and the general

life of the Ringrose classroom.

Got It! Tip of the Week

Making time to play with your child is one of the

most important things you can do together. The

time you spend playing together builds your

connection. It also helps your child to build

confidence, to develop social and communica-

tion skills, and to foster a sense of feeling loved,

happy and safe. Sometimes you might just sit

with your child and watch him play, other times it

might be fun to get involved and follow his lead

with a game. Play can involve many things like

Lego, board games, card games, dance and

music, imaginative games, and reading stories.

Change to time of the Week 10 Assembly

On Friday the 16th of December Kindergarten will be hosting the final assembly for the year. Please note this is also the final day for all students for 2016. The usual assembly time in the afternoon will be moved to the morning session. The change in time will be from 9:15am to 10:00am. Please note the change in time due to the Year 6 Final Assembly and Arch in the afternoon.

- Mrs Stroud (Organising Teacher)

Canteen News Canteen will be closed on Thursday 15th December due to the K-6 Movie Day. No lunch orders can be accepted on the day. The last day for Canteen this year will be Friday 16th December, 2016

As we are coming to the end of the year, Canteen may have low stock of certain items. If your child orders lunch and we are out of stock, chicken wedges will be given instead.

As this is our last newsletter for the year, I would like to acknowledge all the wonderful mums and dads who have helped out in the Canteen throughout the year. Without your help we would not have been open all year round, five days a week - so thank you very much.

I would also like to extend a special thank you to the helpers and parents who are moving on from Ringrose in 2017. Your unwavering support throughout your years at Ringrose has been much appreciated.

If you are looking for a way to support Ringrose Public School in 2017, volunteering in the School Canteen is a rewarding experience that benefits the entire school community. Please call me on 0411 143 609 if you are able to volunteer your time as we are in need of volunteers for 2017.

Thank you to the P&C for all their support and help throughout the year, and a very big thank you to all the students and teachers who have supported the Canteen throughout the year.

To Year 6 2016, as it comes time to say goodbye and your days at primary school come to an end, I am sure that you will be taking with you many cherished memories and friendships. Be proud of your achievements and what you have learnt, because it’s those things that have helped to shape the person you are today and remember life is a journey, just so you know. It’s up to you to decide where to go. As long as you’re happy, than that’s all that matters.

Finally, Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year. I am looking forward to seeing everyone in 2017.

Ann Brett - Canteen Manager
