PRESIDENT’S MESSAGEI can’t believe it is July already! It seems this year is flying by. I’vebeen busy painting Halloween projects!! What have you beenworking on?

Last month we completed a zentangle eagle with Cheri. I have many tin surfaces that my good friend Pat finds for me at the thrift stores and the eagle fit just right on it. I’m trying to think out of the box with my projects and painting them on surfaces I already own. I need to make a dent on this stash so that I can buy more!!

This month we will be getting ready for Christmas with a very cute snowman taught by Donna. I was thinking last night that this design would make a great Christmas card!

Remember to paint your memory/treasure boxes!See you at the meeting!Cathy

MINUTES OF DECORATIVE ARTISTS OF ORLANDO CHAPTER MEETING JUNE 3, 2017 Meeting called to order at 9:01 am by Cathy Ferrer.

A motion and second was made to accept the May 2017 minutes as postedin the newsletter. Motion was accepted.

Membership is 40 members and we have two guests today.

Programs and seminars: In Jolene's absence, Cathy opened further discussion regarding the Mark Menendez seminar. We need a total of 30 students over the course of the seminar to break even. Opening the registration to other chapters has not resulted in additional registrations. The board will meet to discuss options before the next meeting.

July program is a Tangled Snowman taught by Donna Knabe.

Cathy also presented sign up sheets for future workshops so teachers can have a more accurate number of expected students.

2018 Teachers:Your show and tell items for the October meeting are projects that you are willing to teach in 2018.

The treasurer's report was accepted as printed in the newsletter and a current treasurer's report was available at the meeting.

Hospitality :A sign up sheet for those who wished to bring food items to the next meeting.

Spring fling report: Work is underway for the 2018 Spring Fling. Penny Brown brought it to our attention that our usual room may not be available
