ALL POSITIONS ARE OPEN. I hope that someone will step up and volunteer to take our club in a good direction for 2020. Please sign up for the fall bee and flower painting seminar with Sam Farrah. Don’t forget to get your money and sign up sheet to me before the deadline. Remember you can use 10 brush bucks to set off the cost. All information is in the newsletter. I hope everyone enjoyed the summer picnic. Thank you to Barb for a lovely evening. There was plenty of good food and conversation. Our big conversa- tion at the meeting was to bring thoughts and ideas to the August meeting so we can narrow down ideas about a fundraising activity to replace our “Colors of Fall” event. I’m looking forward to getting results from members and perhaps establish an idea so we can get to work on it for 2020. I will be in need of hand painted items for the Tole Month Display during the month of October at the Veteran’s Library in Taylor. We only use the bigger window and there is no theme. So bring me an item at the August meeting or bring it to the library, Tuesday, October 1st at 10:30 a.m. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and seeing you at the meeting! Sandy

President’s Message

We’re in the thick of summer and it sure goes by too quickly. Time to start

thinking about our fall elections and thinking about serving on our Board of

Directors!! We are a very small club now and many of us have been wearing

the same hats for far too long. ALL POSITIONS ARE OPEN. I hope that

someone will step up and volunteer to take our club in a good direction for

2020.

Please sign up for the fall bee and flower painting seminar with Sam Farrah.

Don’t forget to get your money and sign up sheet to me before the deadline.

Remember you can use 10 brush bucks to set off the cost. All information is

in the newsletter.

I hope everyone enjoyed the summer picnic. Thank you to Barb for a lovely

evening. There was plenty of good food and conversation. Our big conversa-

tion at the meeting was to bring thoughts and ideas to the August meeting so

we can narrow down ideas about a fundraising activity to replace our

“Colors of Fall” event. I’m looking forward to getting results from members

and perhaps establish an idea so we can get to work on it for 2020.

I will be in need of hand painted items for the Tole Month Display during the

month of October at the Veteran’s Library in Taylor. We only use the bigger

window and there is no theme. So bring me an item at the August meeting or

bring it to the library, Tuesday, October 1st at 10:30 a.m.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and seeing you at the meeting!

Sandy

Memory Box Program

This box is donated by Heritage Decorative A r t i s t s a n d h a n d p a i n t e d b y __________________________________________ a decorative artist participating in the Memory Box Program. The Memory Box Program is a group of deco-rative artists who donate their time and money to paint boxes for grieving families. Each box is painted with great love and a sincere wish to reach out in support and understanding. As artists we hope that this box brings you some small comfort and the knowledge that many people understand that your child was special and very, very loved.

I

Farewell Artists Club! It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Artists Club. After being in the business of selling decorative painting and supplies, they decided to close their doors. We will all miss this source of artist supply and inspiration. I wanted to let you know about some of the sites and offers that I have used over the years that as of this date, are still offering plenty of inspiration and art supplies. Websites: cdwood.com (Cupboard Distributing) bearwithus.com hofcraft.com decoart.com lauriespeltz.com stockade.ca dellaandcompany.com vikingwoodcrafts.com marlenekreutz.com paintersparadise.com Plainonline.com decorativepaintingstore.com tolepaintingdesigns.com creativeartslifestyle.com Also there are many online groups that offer so many online magazines and subscriptions to paper magazines. I have subscriptions to some of the following: paintingezine.com (this one is online only, but you can download the magazine to your computer) painting-worldmag.com . Joann’s offers “Creative Bug” that you can pay a subscription to that offers all kinds of crafts, including painting. Cdwood also has a year subscription to painting ornaments from Chris Haughey. Ladies, let us know some of the websites that you frequent and we can gather all kinds of information for all our painting friends! Sandy

THE PAINTER’S PSALM

Painting is my hobby, I shall want no other. It maketh me to lay down mop and broom, Walk by my dirty dishes to my studio room. It restoreth my piece of mind And leadeth me into strange places, subjects to find. Yea, tho, I am alone with brushes and paints, I feel no loneliness. The sight of colors and odor of oils, they comfort me, I prepare a canvas on my easel and paint While my dishpan runneth over… Surely, I will have a rainbow in the gravey at dinner, And I will dwell in a state of confusion forever. Julia Bierbaum (I found this while cleaning out my old books and thought

you might enjoy it….Tole World, July 1984...Joan)
