Happy Holidays!Hello Palm Creek residents and guests,

we hope you are all enjoying the beautiful

Arizona weather as much as we are.

It sure is wonderful to see everyone out

and about again throughout the resort as

our season begins. Although we have lots

of activity going on we can definitely tell

that many of you are missing. With all of the

restrictions and concerns due to the virus

this will be a very different season for us all.

To all of our “Snowbirds” both American

and Canadian who will not be returning

this season due to travel restrictions or are

just not yet comfortable to travel in these

unprecedented times we will miss you all.

We hope that our entire Palm Creek family

remains healthy and safe and returns to us

as soon as possible.

Just a friendly reminder to our residents

currently in the resort, masks are required

inside all Sun owned buildings, offices,

laundry rooms, pro-shop and food services.

In the meantime remember to have FUN,

RELAX, and REPEAT! And of course enjoy the

SUN!

Tuesdays from 9 to 12 noon. It usually takes

5 days from start to finish to be listed on our

websites, sign placement, and marketing

material to be placed in front of your home.

THE MAIL ROOMThe Mail room is thrilled to announce that we

have received a new van. The new van not only

opens from the back, but the side making it

easier to load and unload all those packages

and mail. Please go take a look at it behind the

Ball Room in the designated Mail Truck slot. We

are very proud of it.

At this time, I would like to thank the amazing

Team Members of the Mail room: Peggy

Aebersold-Fetzer, Gary Bluhm, Debbie Edgett,

Glen Gier, Candy Konz and Dennis Miller.

They have endured the mass exit of residents

when Covid-19 struck, 10 mailings of Census

each time 2000-2800 extra pieces of mail that

had to be put in resident boxes or forwarded,

the election propaganda and then the ballots.

All of this during record breaking temperatures

of 144 days of over 100, of which 53 were

over 110, then recently the dust storm that

hit when a couple of our Team Members

were out stuffing boxes returning with

their hair straight up in the air and covered

from head to toe brown. They are the most

incredible, amazing team which I am so very

“Thankful for”. You are the very best.

The Mail room will be closed Friday,

December 25th for Christmas and Friday,

January 1st for New Year’s.

May we all have the “Happiest of Holidays”.

Facilities UpdatesWe hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful

weather and participating in all the activities

available to us here in the resort.

We ask that you please do not take chairs from

the pavilions and place them in dog parks.

Pavilion chairs are limited to 50 chairs. You may

bring in your own chairs for social distancing

and gathering.

Please remember, site Improvements require

a Permit from the Facilities Office. Forms are

Activity UpdatesAs you might imagine, work on the December

calendar has been very challenging to say the

least. We’ve been forced to cancel our planned

Craft Fair, dances, and entertainers for the

month. However, the good news is that the

holidays are still upon us - in spite of COVID!

Thank you for all who generously donated

goodies for Operation Care Package. We

sent numerous boxes to our troops who are

deployed overseas for the holidays. Your

goodwill will definitely lift their spirits while

they continue to serve their country and

protect our freedoms from abroad.

Your support of the Giving Tree for local foster

children is also very much appreciated. Palm

Creek never disappoints by ensuring Santa had

wonderful presents for the children, especially

during this difficult time.

Wednesday, December 16 we will be holding

a blood drive from 8am - 1pm in the SanTan

Room at Palm Creek. If you wish to give

blood, please sign up in the Activities

Let’s keep our spirits high in Palm Creek by

decorating our golf carts and homes for the

holidays. Santa and his elves will be giving Sun

gift cards to his favorites that brighten the

resort. Details can be found in the separate

December calendar.

I am still only planning one month at a time

so that we can more easily make adjustments

whenever or wherever needed if COVID

requirements are relaxed or made more

stringent. Please refer to the December

calendar for this month’s events and activities,

do your best to stay current as news develops

or changes become necessary.

The Bistro and Sports Grill are in full swing, and looking forward to a busy month! Just a reminder,

our Bistro now has extended hours from 3:00 – 5:00 pm with a special Happy Hour Menu that is

available for take-out only. However, this doesn’t mean you have to take your meal home – enjoy

your meal on our beautiful patio in the fresh air under blue skies!

We are also featuring our special warm dinner meals below at the Bistro every Tuesday. Meals are

available while quantities last.

REOPENING GUIDELINES

• Only 6 people allowed in the Pro Shop at any one time

• Mandatory mask wearing in the Pro Shop

• No cash will be accepted. Only credit and SUN cards will be accepted.

• Golfers must practice social distancing procedures.

• There will be no water stations on the course.

• There will be no seed boxes on the course. Marshals will fill divots during their shift.

• There will be no rakes in the bunkers. Marshals will rake all bunkers at the beginning of the day and we will have a local rule of lift, clean and place in the bunkers within 1 club length no closer to the hole.

• There will be no ball washers on the course.

• There will be no trash receptacles on the course.

• There will be no closest to the pin contests due to touching procedures.

• The flagstick is not to be removed. We have a new easy lift system attached to the flagstick that allows the ball to be safely removed from the hole with your putter.
