We Are UndefeatABLE is a national campaign to support the 15 million people who live with one or more Long-Term Health Conditions (LTCs) in England. Launched in 2019, it aims to enable those with LTCs to build physical activity into their lives. Mansfield is in the top 10 districts with the highest number of people living with LTCs in England, and as such will be in receipt of additional funds to activate the WAU campaign forward at a local level. In order to successfully deliver this exciting piece of work we are looking to appoint a Project Lead. More information can be found here. or email Lesley: [email protected]

Job Opportunity
We are really excited about some great work that we have done with
our local Morrisons store in Sutton-In-Ashfield. This has involved giving
our Building Better Opportunities Towards Work participants the
chance to complete a work trial with them with could result in paid
employment.
Lucy Hands is one of our participants that has recently benefited from
this opportunity and completed a work trial. This has resulted in her
being offering a job serving fresh food in the Market Street, which is a
great achievement. Well done Lucy!

Mansfield Street Support Like most other towns in the UK, Mansfield has a visible street community and quite naturally people want to help those who are most vulnerable. Our district has an established support network of charities, groups and organisations who work daily with people who are homeless, begging and rough sleeping. The Mansfield Street Support Website contains important information about what support is available including details of current food banks, shelters, soup kitchens, how to access help and also how you can get involved.

Foundations in Dementia Launch 22nd January 2020, 12.00 – 2.00pm Room E06, Teaching & Learning Building, University Park Campus, Nottingham, NG7 2RD Free to attend (lunch and refreshments will be provided) Foundations in Dementia is a free, online course on the FutureLearn platform. Join us for lunch and to find out how this course is useful to students, professionals in training, family carers and volunteers working in dementia. Meet the contributors, including award-winning cartoonist Tony Husband (Private Eye, The Times, Punch etc), who will be offering his Cartoon Confessional: you confess, and he draws the ‘sin’. Foundations in Dementia covers six themes in 2-3 hours
each, with research highlights featuring dementia experts
from the University of Nottingham. The presenters come
from a wide range of academic and clinical professional
backgrounds and include family carers with extensive
experience of supporting loved ones with dementia.
