Dear Parents,

¡Queremos darles la bienvenida a Kinder. Esperamos un año de gran éxito! El año de kinder es muy especial! Necesitamos su apoyo para lograr esta meta. Welcome to Kindergarten. We plan to have a successful and productive year. Kindergarten is a special school year; we need the support and cooperation of parents in order to achieve this goal..

1. El horario : El horario del dia es de 7:50 a.m. a 3:15 de la tarde.

School Time: School begins at 7:50 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m

Entrada: Los niños necesitan que estar listos en fila a las 7:50 enfrente del pabellón para entrar con la maestra al salόn. Clases comienzan inmediatamente a las 8:15 am. Aseguren de traer y recoger a sus niños al tiempo indicado. Lining up: Your child needs to be in line by 7:50 am in front of the pavilion ready to be picked up by the teacher. Classes begin immediately at 8:15 am. Please make sure to be here on time. If you arrive after 8:15, your child will be marked tardy and will need an entrance slip from the office before going to class..

Salida: Cada maestra tendra su lugar para despedir a los niños. Si acaso llegan tarde pasadas las 3:25, el director se encargara de las consequencias si sucede frecuente. Si acaso no va poder llegar a tiempo por alguna emergencia, llame a la escuela para avisarle al director.

Dismissal: Each teacher will show her class where to line up. We encourage you to be responsible and get your child to school on time and pick them up on time also. After 3:25 pm, the principal will be in charge of consequences if tardiness occurs frecuently. If you are going to be late in picking up your child because of an emergency, please notify the school to let the principal know.

2. La asistencia: Es importante que su hijo/a tenga buena asistencia para construir la fundaciόn de responsabilidad y aprendizaje. 2. Attendance/absences: It is important that your child remain in school in order to build a foundation for responsibility and for learning. If your child must be absent due to illness or any other reasons, you must notify the school office by phone and send a note explaining the reason for his/her absence. 3. Educaciόn fίsica: Tenemos 45 minutos de educaciόn fίsica diario. La participación de cada estudiante es un requisito de la escuela. Si acaso su niño ha estado enfermo por cualquier razón, mandele una nota del pariente o doctor a la enfermera.

3. Physical Education: We have a 45 minute physical education (P.E.) period every day. Your child is required to participate in P.E. everyday unless he/she has a note from a parent or guardian excusing him/her because of illness (for 1-3 days) or a doctor’s note (until a written release is given).

4. El desayuno: Todos los estudiantes tendran la oportunidad de desayunar gratis de 7:50-8:05am. Favor de hacer arreglos para tener bastante tiempo para desayunar. Si acaso llegan tarde, quizas llevan el riesgo de no recibir un desayuno.

4. Breakfast: Breakfast is served daily from 7:50-8:05 am in our classroom. Please make sure your child gets to school early so that they will have plenty of time to eat their breakfast. If for any reason your child is late, they must report to class and run the risk of not being able to receive a breakfast.

5. Lunch: Students in kindergarten are allotted a 35 minute lunch period. Lunch is at 11:00-11:35. Every student will be responsible for cleaning their table and personal space after each meal. The cafeteria number is (915) 566-0921 Ms. Monica.

6. Homework: The students will have homework assigned Monday-Fridays. Please check their homework daily and sign their assignments indicating you have worked with your child.

7. Conferencias: Tenemos dos conferencias por cada año escolar con los padres. La primera conferencia sera durante el mes de Octubre-Noviembre y la segunda conferencia sera durante el mes de Febrero-Marzo. Si acaso es necesario tener mάs conferencias se les avisara con tiempo. El tiempo de conferencia de todas las maestros de kinder es de 9:00-9:45.

7. Conferences: We encourage you to ask how your child is progressing. We will be having two official conferences with parents. The first conference will be held sometime in October-November, and the second conference will be held in February –March. However, we will let you know if it is necessary to have an additional conferences as needed. Kindergarten teachers conference time is from 9:00-9:45 pm daily.

8. Actas de Calificaciónes: Tarjetas de reportes se mandan cada _9_ semanas durante el año. Se les mandara un reporte de progreso a los padres o tutores del estudiante. Padres o tutores, por favor de firmar y regresar el reporte de progreso a la maestra de su hijo/a lo mάs pronto posible.

8. Report cards: Report cards will be issued after every _9_weeks throughout the school year. At the end of each three weeks of a grading period, the Campus shall also provide a notice of progress to a parent or guardian of the student. Parents should sign all progress reports and return them to the classroom teacher as soon as possible.

9. Los viajes: Viajes o excursiones fuera de la escuela seran anunciados con tiempo para tener su cooperación y apoyo.

9. Field trip: Field trips will be announced with time so that parents can cooperate and help out whenever possible.

10. Dias inclementosos: En días inclementosos (lluvia, frio, ventoso, etc.), los estudiantes de kindergarten se deben reportar a la cafeterίa antes de que se comienze las clases en la mañana. Durante estos días inclementosos, los estudiantes posiblemente se quedaran adentro durante el tiempo de su educación fisica y en tiempo de comida. Los padres necesitan que hacer arreglos con sus hijos/as en donde esperarlos en la salida si acaso tenemos días inclementosos. Les agradecemos su cooperación y apoyo en este asunto.

10. Inclement Weather: On inclement weather days (rain, extreme cold, blowing dust, etc.) students in kindergarten will report to the cafeteria before school. Students will also remain indoors during lunch and P.E. on bad weather days. Parents are asked to make definite arrangements with their children so that each child will know exactly what they are expected to do if the weather is bad at dismissal time. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

11.Administración de medicamentos: Los medicamentos pueden ser administrados al estudiante solamente por la enfermera si tienen una nota firmada por uno de los padres y el doctor/dentista licenciado en los Estados Unidos. El medicamento necesita que venir en su frasco o botella original con la receta u orden de administración.

11. Medication: Medications may be administered to students if a note containing details of dosage and time for administration is sent to the school nurse. The note must be dated and signed by the parent / guardian and the written order of the doctor / dentist licensed in the United States. The medication must have a prescription label. All medications should be in their original container. These conditions apply to over-the-countter medication as well. For additional details, please contact the school nurse.

12.Release of students: Only authorized family members or persons that are legally allowed to pick up your child must be notified in emergency card and school records. Those individuals authorized to pick up your child must have an identification in order for your child to be released.

14.Classroom discipline plan and Crockett Code of Conduct Rules: In order to guarantee your child a positive learning environment without any interruptions due to discipline issues, a Code of Conduct and classroom rules will be followed. This discipline plan is in compliant with our school and the district.

15.Reading, Math, and Science Night: During these selected family nights, activities will be provided to reflect the course of study in the classroom. This is a time where the child’s family can work together and learn about what they are learning in the classroom.

16. Tutoring: Your child’s teacher may require any student failing to meet the minimum standards for kindergarten to attend tutorial sessions.

17. PTA Program: The students will have an opportunity to perform during one of the PTA’s meetings within the year. You will be notified with given time to make arrangements to attend.

Principal’s Note: ***Parents, all doors to our school building will be closed starting at 7:30 am – 3:30 pm. The only entrance where the doors will be unlocked will be the main entrance which leads to our school main office. Please stop by the office first before proceeding to other areas of our school campus. 3.Calificaciones en sus tareas con una calcomanía, carita feliz, estampa o estrellita. Graded homework with positive remarks.

4.Un lugar donde poner la Firma de padres indicando que les ayudaron a sus hijo(as). A signature line for parents indicating that you helped your child.

5.Listas de: palabras de uso frecuente, letras, sonidos, rimas, etc. que los niños tienen que practicar, repasar y escribir en varias actividades dadas por la maestra. Sight word lists, letter sound charts, and rhyming word worksheets that students will study and practice writing.

6.Un Librito de lectura o poema. A little reader, book or poem.

Pasos para leer su cuento: Steps to follow while reading a story

a. Lean el cuento juntos, notando y hablando sobre los dibujos dejando que el niño apunte a cada palabra con su ayuda. Read the story together, noticing and discussing the pictures, guiding your child to point to each word with your help.

b. Repasen el cuento de nuevo y obtenga fluidez. Read the story again with fluency.

c. Denle la oportunidad al niño de leer el cuento a 2 miembros de la familia apuntando a cada palabra. Give your child the opportunity to read the book to two other members of the family, pointing to each word as they read.

d. Preparen a su hijo/a para leer el cuento el siguiente día con la maestra y regresen el libro al salón. Prepare your child to read the story the following day with the teacher and return the book back to class.

e. Su firma en la nota de tarea indicara que su niño/a hizo su tarea y practico su lectura con la familia. Your signature on the homework page will indicate that your child completed the homework and practiced reading with the family.

7. Cada semana tendran 2-3 palabras adicionales de alta frecuencia para aprender y estudiar. Every week students will have 2-3 new additional sight words to learn and study.

Guía Para El Uso Aceptable Del Internet

El internet es un autopista electronic que conecta a miles de subscriptores a través del mundo por medio de computadoras. El Distrito Escolar Independiente De El Paso prove acceso al Internet a empleados, estudiantes, maestros y administradores. Dado que el Internet cambia constantemente, los maestros y las bibliotecarías de las escuelas comparten la responsabilidad de trabajar conjuntamente para ayudar a los estudiantes en el desarrollo de las aptidudes necesarias para escoger información pertinente de las multiples fuentes de información para asistirles en la identificación de tal información, y para evaluar yusar la información adquirida en la realización de sus metas educacionales. Uno de nuestros propósitos es fomenter la excelencia educative en nuestro distrito, promoviendo los recursos compartidos, la inovacion y la comunicación electronic con los estudiantes.

El acceso al Internet y al sistema electronic de comunicación del disrito escolar deberá estar disponible a estudiantes, padres de familia, y empleados exclusivamente para uso educativo y administrative, y de acuerdo a las reglas administrativas. El acceso al sistema electronic de comunicaciones del distrito es un privilegio y no un derecho. Los estudiantes deben estar conscientes que las computadoras del distrito se comparten y que hay límites de tiempo.

Se exige que cualquier persona que use estos medios de comunicación mediante conexiones del Distrito Escolar Independiente de El Paso acepte y sig alas siguientes reglas:

1. Las contraseñas son para uso personal del estudiante y no se deben compartir.

2. Los estudiantes deberán respetar los derechos de los demás y no usar vocabulario abusive, (desagradable, grosero, insultante, disparates en cualquier lengua o comentarios racistas), profane (vulgar, irreverente a dios o a lo sagrado, satanic), sexualmente ofensivo (de naturaleza sexual, repugnante, inmoral, acoso sexual), o amenazante. El buscar o enviar mensajes o ilustraciones obscenas está prohibido.

3. No se permite el acceso al Internet con el fin de procurer ilustraciones (retratos, imágenes, archivos gráficos, u otras representaciones visuals) obsenas y/o daninas a menores de edad (que atraiga curiosidad lasciva: contacto a acto sexual – verdadero o simulado: y falto de un sincere valor literario, artistic, político o científico).

4. El Acceso y participación en pláticas cibernéticas (chat rooms) por parte de los estudiantes es totalmente prohibido. Si el plan de studios indica pláticas supervisadas, se mantendrá observación continua (on-line) durante las platicas y los estudiantes estarán bajo supervición constant por el instructor.

5. A los estudiantes únicamente se les permite acceso a juegos electrónicos que hayan sido aprobados por el maestro o la bibliotecaria.

6. Los estudiantes deberán respetar la privacidad de cada individuo y no procurer reproducer o modificar archivos, contraseñas o datos de información ajenos. Nadie debe hacerse pasar por otra persona ni emplear las computadoras bajo cuentas ajenas. Nadie debe remitir documentacion ajena sin el previo consentimiento del autor.

7. Las transmisiones de correo electronic como cualquier otro uso del sistema de comunicaciones no se considera confidencial y puede ser observado en cualquier momento por personal autorizado del distrito escolar para asi asegurar el uso apropiado. La transmission de mensajes o graficas obscenas está prohibido. Mensajes de character ilícito se reportarán a las respectivas autoridades.

8. Por la seguridad y proteccion de los estudiantes, no se compartirá información personal alguna de los estudiantes en el Internet sin el consentimiento explícito de sus padres.

9. Los estudiantes deberan respetar la integridad de los sistemas de computación y ceñirse a las leyes federales y estatales vigentes con respect a la comunicación electronic. Esto incluye, pero no se limita a obtener información confidencial sin autorización, a divulger contraseñas personales, a dañar los sistemas de comunicación, a diseñar programas con la intención de acosar a otros usuarios, a tartar de infiltrarse en computadoras o sistemas de computación, a la creación o propagación de virus computacionales, a intencionalmente introducer programas o archivos prohibidos en areas de computación de las escuelas. Actos mal intencionados con el propósito de dañar o destruir computadoras, sistemas de computación, bases de datos y acciones perpetradas con el propósito de degrader o interrumpir el desempeño de computadoras serán considerados como violaciones a los dictámenes del distrito y a sus reglas administrativas y pueden ser consideradas como actos criminals de acuerdo a las leyes estatales y federales vigentes. 10. Los usuarios deberán respetar las leyes, de derecho de autor concerniente a programas de computación, artículos, bases de datos y gráficas. (Observe las reglas sobre los derechos de autor según dictámenes de la junta directive del distrito.) Los usuarios no deberán copier textualmente lo escrito por otros, sino elaborar su propio trabajo y deben dar reconocimiento escrito al dueño de la información.

11. Todos los gastos generados como resultado del uso del Internet serán la responsabilidad del estudiante o de sus padres.

12. El permiso otorgado para el uso del Internet es en si un privilegio. No deben desperdiciarse recursos escolares obrando mal en el uso del sistema de computadoras. Todo aquel usuario cuyo comportamiento sea considerado inapropiado perdera dicho privilegio. Incumplimiento a las reglas pertinentes tendra como consecuencia la suspención de sus privilegios y se tomarán medidas disciplinarias dictadas por la junta escolar, y el codigo de conducta estudiantil.

Acceptable Use Agreement for Student Internet Access

The Internet is an electronic highway connecting thousands of computers all over the world with millions of individual subscribers. Internet access is available to students, teachers, and administrators of El Paso Independent School District. Since it is a constantly changing, fluid environment, school library media specialists and teachers have a professional responsibility to work together to help students develop the intellectual skills needed to discriminate among information sources, to identify information appropriate to their age and developmental levels, and to evaluate and use information to meet their educational goals. One of our goals is to promote educational excellence in the El Paso Independent School District by facilitating resource sharing, innovation, and electronic communication.

Access to the District’s electronic communications system, including the Internet, shall be made available to students, parents and wmployees exclusively, for instructional and administrative purposes and in accordance with administrative regulations. Access to the District’s electronic communications system is a privilege, not a right. Students need to be aware that the District computers are shared equipment and time limits may be imposed when people are waiting to use them.

Any person using these resources through a District connection must accept and abide by the following policies:

1. Students may not allow anyone else to use their personal password.

2. Students must respect the rights of other individuals and not use language that is abusive (harshly or coarsely insulting, containing cursing in any language or ethnic or racial slurs), profane (vulgar, irreverent toward God or sacred things, Satanic), secually offensive (sexual in nature, repugnant to the moral sense or good taste, sexual harassment), or threatening.

3. No one may access text or visual depictions (any picture, image, graphic image file, or other visual depiction) that are obscene and/or harmful to minors (appeals to a prurient interest; an actual or simulated sexual act or contact; and lacks seriopus literary, artistic, political or scientific value).

4. Students may not access or participate in chat rooms at any time. If the curriculum mandates the use of a supervised chat room, chat rooms may be allowed if the chat room is monitored on-line by a third party and if the students are under close supervision of the instructor.

5. Students may access only those games approved by a teacher or librarian.

6. Students must respect the privacy of others and not intentionally obtain copies of or midify files, passwords, or data that belong to anyone else. No one should represent him/herself as someone else by using another’s account. No one should forward personal material without prior consent of the originator.

7. Electronic mail transmissions and other use of the electronic communication system are not considered to be private and may be monitored at any time by designated District staff to ensure appropriate use. Transmitting obscene messages or pictures is prohibited. Messages dealing with illegal activities may be reported to the appropriate authority.

8. For the safety and privacy of the student, no student information in any form except directory information will be posted on the Internet without express parental permission.

9. Students must respect the integrity of computing systems and abide by existing Federal and State laws regarding electronic communication. This includes accessing secure and / or confidential information without authorization, divulging passwords, causing system malfunction, developing programs that harass other users or attempting to infiltrate a computer or computing system, maliciously harming or destroying District equipment, materials, or data and deliberately degrading or disrupting system performance. These actions may be viewed as violations of District policy and administrative regulations and, possible, as criminal activity under applicable state and federal laws. This includes, but is not limited to, the uploading or creation of computer viruses and accessing indecent information. These laws can carry penalties of up to 20 years in prison.

10. Students muist respect the legal protection provided by copyright laws to computer programs, articles, graphics and data. (See Board Policies on copyright.) Students shall not copy anything that belongs to someone else without rewriting it in their own words and are reminded to give credit to the owner of the information.

11. Any expense incurred as a result of Internet use is the responsibility of the student/parents.

12. Access to the Internet is considered a privilege. Users should not waste school resources through improper use of the computer system. Anyone found using access in a way deemed inappropriate will be denied privileges. Noncompliance with applicable regulations may result in suspension or termination of privileges and other disciplinary action consistent with Board policy and the student code of conduct.
