St. Michael the Archangel Garland, Texas July 31, 2011
The Lord is good to all and compassionate to-ward all his works. In spite of Jesus’ grief at the death of John the Baptist, his heart goes out to the multitude that followed Him into the wilderness. Jesus healed them and then He fed them: signs of His divinity and His mercy. Our Lord knows that we have needs also. Most likely we seek God when we are desperate. But we could turn to Him first and trust that our Lord desires our good. There really is not a mo-ment in which we do not need God more than anything else.

Attention all young adults ages 18-30, singled or married, working or in school, St. Michael’s is starting a ministry just for you! Often
this age group slips in the shadows within the Catholic Church and we want to change that.
This ministry will be continuing its third week of the six week session with Theology of the Body. If you have missed ses-sions, don’t worry, you can still attend. There is no manda-
tory commitment level. Bring a friend and come for a laid back social experience while
learning about our Catholic Faith. If you have any questions or would like more information please
contact Samantha Silvas in the parish office or by text at 214-597-1292. Find this group on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/

A St. Michael Parishioner is in need of help! A mother of four kids, the oldest son going to Sam Houston
for 6th grade next month, is in need of some assistance. The
oldest is signed up to play trumpet in the band and just re-
cently found out that the school does not provide the instru-
ment. The mom was wondering if there was anyone who had
an old trumpet they didn’t need or would be interested in
buying a new one that could be donated to her son. She
does not have the money needed to buy him one at this
time. She has been helped by our parish before, in means of
the Food Pantry and is taken aback by the kindness and gen-
erosity of our Catholic community. If there is anyway some-
one could help her and her son out she would appreciate it.
If you are interested in helping this parishioner in any way
please contact Samantha Silvas in the parish office at 972-
279-6581, ext. 12 or by email at
The Women’s Craft Group will be hosting a gift and bake sale
Sunday, October 23, 2011 after the 8:30, 10:30 and 12:30
Masses. This will be a great opportunity for early Christmas
shopping and a gift wrapping station will be available for
your convenience. This sale will take the place of the usual
Bazaar for this year. Please make plans to attend as the pro-
ceeds benefit the St. Michael Food Pantry.
