TESTIMONY:When I was a senior in high school, God spoke to me at a Youth For Christ meeting. I staunchly believed that Buddha was for the Asians and Christ was for the white race. However, God showed me that all humans were sinners and there was only one God. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to be our Savior. I attended Moody Bible Institute, Wheaton College and Columbia University Teachers College, all with the intention of working with Japanese immigrants in the Brazilian jungle. God intervened and sent my husband and me to the jungle of blackboards at Miami University, where we helped to establish the Oxford Bible Fellowship.

FAVORITE HOBBIES/INTERESTS: Spending time with Ryan and with our four nieces and nephews, reading, cooking, traveling and teaching second graders.
FAVORITE BOOK: Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers - amazing!
FAVORITE SONG/MUSIC: My favorite song changes everyday, but
today it’s God Gave Me You by Dave Barnes, and I LOVE country music!
FAVORITE SCRIPTURE: “So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord, for His coming forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain watering the earth." (Hosea 6:3)
FAVORITE MOVIE: I don’t watch movies much; however, I do enjoy watching Jack Bauer own people on 24.
FAMILY: Well, Ryan and I have been married for a year and a half now. We are about to begin a new phase as Ryan starts seminary this fall, and I start my first year of teaching. We have two nephews and two nieces that we adore. We love children and can’t wait to have our own - someday!
WISDOM TO SHARE: Something I’ve been learning recently: We, as women, must remember that perfectionism is not our goal in life. We are constantly striving to be the perfect wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend ... fill in the blank. We need to daily remind ourselves that we are not perfect, and that is okay! If we were perfect, there would be no need for Christ. Christ is the one who makes us perfect, which is quite reassuring because there's absolutely no way I'm going to be faultless anytime soon!
TESTIMONY: I began truly walking with Christ in high school, after a rough patch of bad relationships and hanging with the wrong crowd. I was trying to be Christian while enjoying the party scene. It didn’t work out. I was looking for everything but Christ, and in a moment, He literally brought me to my knees, lovingly reassuring me that He is the only one worthy of my worship and devotion. Since then, He has taken me on such a journey! I transferred universities, fell in love with Ryan, and He has generously blessed me with a teaching job this year! I can’t wait to continue walking with the Lord through this life and the next!

Apples, of many varieties, are ready for har vest . This wonder ful f ru i t contains antioxidants, flavnoids and pectin and is rich in dietary fiber. Slice apples up in salads, bake in breads or make homemade applesauce.
Cranberries are also full of disease-fighting antioxidants and are high in vitamin C. Use fresh cranberries in muffins, dried cranberries in granola or drink as juice.
Pumpkins have lots of vitamin A, which is great for eyesight, and are full of fiber. Roast the pumpkin seeds, which contain zinc. You can use pumpkins in soup, breads, pie and many other recipes.
Enjoy the season and its changing colors by bicycling, jogging or hiking in the woods.

FAMILY:Mick and I met at our pastor’s home in Ames, Iowa. We were then put in the same small group. Mick asked me out for the first time after a small group meeting. We got married in Milford, New York in 1978 and have lived in Oxford since 1981. We have three
daughters - Sarah, Jessica and Hannah - a son-in-law, Cory Keeton and one granddaughter, Ezra.
WISDOM TO SHARE:If I had to redo the past 30 years, I would take more time to recharge my batteries and to spend more fun time with Mick.
TESTIMONY:I grew up in a family that went to church every Sunday, but the way of the Lord was not presented in our home. On my first Friday night at Iowa State, I was walking around my dorm floor. One of the women on my floor had a picture of Jesus on her dorm wall. I was so amazed to see a picture of Jesus in a college dorm. I asked her about the picture, and she invited me to a Bible Study. I joined the study, and a few months later the leader asked me about my relationship with Christ. I decided to follow Christ that day. The Bible study leader was in our wedding and remains a dear friend.
