Medial patronage:

Cultural heritage is the patrimony of humanity. In the day of intensifying

migration, globalization and commercialization, the question of our values, authorities, identity, and protection of cultural heritage becomes increasingly relevant. The aim of the conference is to promote national identity, heritage in the spirit of dialogue, and respect for cultural diversity. This interdisciplinary conference is held periodically.

We invi te you to submit your proposi t ions of presentations.

Exemplary subjects:

* The definition of artefact, its typology and meaning (e.g. written artefacts, iconographic artefacts, pipe-making artefacts, artefacts of music, medicine, law, shepherding, forestership, huntsmanship) * Protection of tangible heritage: moveable monuments (e.g. archivalia, books, works of art, theatrical props and plays/prints, ethnographic objects, works of practical art, means of transport, militaria); immovable heritage (e.g. works of architecture, rural planning, industrial objects and factory buildings, fortifications, menhirs, burial sites); archaeological monuments (e.g. relics of artistic, religious, agricultural activity, remnants of prehistoric and historical settlements, cave paintings and writings) * Protection of intangible heritage (e.g. the art of dialogue, songs, legends, rituals, knowledge about the universe, traditional craftsmanship skills) * Protection of the cultural heritage of ethnic and national minorities * Artistic and cultural geography, the topography of culture * Human settlement – genesis, factors, interpretations * Migrations. Polish diasporas. The input of Poles into the heritage of other nations

* Restitution of cultural assets. Historical politics. Strategic programmes for the protection and conservation of monuments * Testimonies of the past, the signs and media of memory, identity * Protection of Homicide Victims’ Memorials and Remembrance Sites * Protection of natural heritage (e.g. historical and modern parks, gardens, primeval forests, mountainous regions, maritime regions) * Architecture, spatial planning and landscape protection Legal protection of cultural and natural heritage in national, European and international law * International cultural cooperation * The activity of specialised organizations and institutions (regional, national, and international) for the protection of cultural and natural heritage

Location of the sessions: Wydział Pdagogiczno-Artystyczny Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza (The Faculty of Pedagogy and Fine Arts of the Adam Mickiewicz University), ul. Nowy Świat 28-30, 62-800 Kalisz, Poland

Active participation in the conference is granted on the basis of an application sheet which

must be filled in and submitted via email at [email protected] by 16th

June 2018 The presentations of the speakers are expected to be 15 minutes long The conference fee is 390 PLN (the fee covers the cost of conference participation,

conference materials, conference proceedings, coffee buffet, dinners and supper) The languages of the conference sessions and of the articles for printing are Polish, English,

German or another congress language (French, Spanish or Russian) spoken by the participant The articles will be published in the form of a ranked book according to the criteria and

procedure for granting the category of scientific research units (the materials may also be published in an electronic form)
